weird intuitions while watching taskmaster: James Acaster and Jessica Knappett are a pair of sibling puppies, Ania Magliano and Phil Ellis are a pair of weird cousins, and Josh Widdicombe is a domesticated British golden hamster.
Luke Warm Watching: Bena Is The Taskmaster Series One
I have set about the task of rescoring all series of taskmaster as if i was the taskmaster in order to resettle scores, do some data analysis, and take a look at the psyche of Greg Davies. Here is Series One
The Scores
Whilst the scores differ all episode winners remain the same and Josh remains as the series champion
In my scoring Frank outscores Romesh by some way to cinch second place. Romesh is therefore in third and Tim and Roisin remain in fourth and fifth
None of the tie breaks are actually needed in my scoring but the wins and loses of these are objective so remain the same
Despite the claim that Greg scores women badly, he gives her nine more points in total than I do and never disqualifies her whilst i disqualify her twice. As the only woman to compete so far we can't draw too many conclusions from this because of the large possibility that this has nothing to do with feminism and Roisin is just a bit shit at this (I say with love)
Controversies and Comments
Here are any notable differences in scoring on particular tasks and a look into my methods
General
People say Greg is more ruthless in the earlier series but I am way more disqualification happy than he is. He tends to bump people down instead of actually disqualifying them.
As a standard for team tasks the winners get five points and the losers get three in my ruling
Ep 1
The draw a horse task I don’t think Roisin should be fully disqualified because its technically a horse and the production team offered her the option so like not her fault but still only one point.
Ep 2
I Don’t punish Tim Key for the comic relief thing because being a good person isn’t in the rules.
The pie task i think what defines a breach is very subjective so I will only punish intentional breaching. If a pie fails to maintain structural integrity when lightly examined this is not a breach in my eyes (ie when Josh sees the peas). If the contents can be seen through already made gaps in the pies this is also not a breach (Breaching with your eyes isnt a thing, Roisin).
Ep 3
I'm with Josh on the mug thing. I think he’s been inventive and drinking from it lets it work and therefore I give him 4 points.
Ep 4
Josh also gets one point from me for all of the bean etc tasks. Whilst i don't generally agree with bonus points he did do extra tasks and that should be rewarded
In the tears task people who do not produce any tears I disqualify
Ep 5
I want to disqualify Tim in the nail task but as he still has some nail i cannot
Ep 6
Technically not a rules diversion here but i hate soup so much and therefore Tim gets one point for the prize task and he would have thanked me for it
I agree with the controversial egg golf scoring. Any egg counts as egg and sweeping the egg is allowed. Also lets be honest Roisin needs the points
Task by Task
Here are screenshots of my spreadsheet (pink) and the equivalent of Greg's scoring (red). These spreadsheets are taken and adapted from the Taskmaster Wiki. (note: D stands for disqualification with these being split into D-I for disqualification owing to incompetence and D-M for disqualification owing to malice)
3. the entire "make the swedish guy blush" segment. less baffling, more just the homoerotiscm compelled me. why did the one guy feel the need to tell him to picture alex naked?
