It's another "stay-at-home" edition of #VinylAndBeerSunday. The news that one of my favorite bands, THE JAYHAWKS, will be releasing a new album soon made me dig out their 2000 release SMILE. THE JAYHAWKS have a number of strong albums and SMILE is no exception. If you have not listened to these albums, and you like hook-driven Power Pop with a Beatlesque twist, you will dig these tunes. This album contains the stunning title tune, the FLEETWOOD MAC-like I’M GONNA MAKE YOU LOVE ME, and SOMEWHERE IN OHIO. The entire album is strong from start to finish. I would highly recommend this band to those who have not heard them. And they are releasing a new album soon. So it is a cause for celebration for those of us who like the band. I have accompanied these tunes with a new beer (to me) from LEVEL BREWING out of Portland, OR. They have a new Hazy IPA in their STABLE GENIUS series and it’s a QUARANTINE EDITION. The beer is an impressive HAZY IPA that is well made and delicious. It’s just like these well made and performed tunes from the album. So…what are you listening to tonight?
