Hi can I just say I stumbled upon this beautiful ML -esque blog AND I WILL NEVER GET OVER IT, also I have a feeling they'll never release the extra scenes or a season 2 or an extra episode even though I'm still strongly praying and hoping??? I mean does SBS really hate us international fans so much to torture us like this? Ahhh SoSoo T.T

Hello! Yes, welcome to my blog, where MLSHR never dies. lmao 

Unfortunately, they’ll never release anything (extra scenes, s2, extra episode, etc) because the director/production company hates happiness us. :) I think the fandom would cry tears of joy if they would just release the reunion scene (which we know they filmed), but NOPE. Instead, it’s destined to gather dust in a hard drive somewhere in South Korea. (;___;) What irks is that the reunion is probably superrrr short, going by the brief re-enactment Lee Joon Gi and Lee Ji Eun did at JG’s fanmeeting. So why not just release it?! I can’t see it being any longer than Soo seeing a handkerchief, then looking up to see modern!So - cut to flashback.

Oh, and SBS isn’t to blame. I mean, they’re to blame for certain things, but not this. Blame the director, Kim Kyu Tae. lol (No srsly, he sucks.)

Anyways, I’ll never be over MLSHR either, as evidenced by the majority of my posts. haha You’re welcome to come cry or flail with me anytime. Thanks for the message! ♥

OK SO I WAS COMPLETELY DEPRESSED OVER THE DOUCHEBAG DIRECTOR BUT AFTER SEEING THE LINK OF THE REENACTMENT, IM 70% CURED OMG thank you thank you thank you SOOOOOOOO much!!! My (very) broken heart is eternally grateful!! Ah, so they DID meet in modern day! Yes they're the best, IU and JG. They didn't have to but they're just the sweetest!! Thank you again! Yes, he sucks. :) (I'll never pass up an opportunity to say that, lol. ;P) But I’m happy that the link helped cure you somewhat. ;) SoSoo totally met in the modern day, I refuse to believe anything else! And I adore JG and IU. Besides MLSHR, those two encompass almost all the other content of my blog now, haha.

I'm really trying /struggling to understand why the director is acting like this. It's like he only listens to the Korean fans, and is completely ignoring us international fans! I'm sure they've staff who scour the net for such things?? Thanks for all the info BTW!! And any people have mentioned this being a pre-production, it's editing is terrible :O!! I also wonder if they left it so ambiguous for a second season but the ratings were bad and scrapped the idea..

The director just doesn’t care. ʅ(ツ)ʃ He got his money, so it’s off to the next project. And nope, he definitely does NOT listen to Korean fans. lol Maybe in the beginning when people complained about the lack of JG/Wang So (part of which led to re-editing, which then led to there being two versions - the international version and the domestic Korean version). But the Korean fans are the ones who had to deal with him when petitioning for an uncut DVD/Blu-ray and they’re the ones he treated like crap. International fans aren’t even on his radar. They might have had such staff while the drama was airing, but everyone has already long moved on to the next job. 

They had to rush editing because the entire drama needed to be reviewed before it could be aired in China. (The director couldn't handle such a schedule.) But even then, I still can’t forgive how bad the editing turned out. Like, a “professional” did that. lol

Yes, everything would be quite different if MLSHR had been a ratings hit like the cdrama. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. :(

Ahhh. Yes. I knew it. I will just have to take that post by IU as canon In my heart T.T!! I KNOW I DON'T GET WHY!! LIKE IVE READ HES AN AMAZING DIRECTOR but why is he doing this!! Seriously!! On top of that, so many people had said that if those 3 seconds were aired, the ratings would be sooooo much better! But then again, I read somewhere else in the comments that, in the original novel, they didn't meet up in the future, she just died :/ I signed the petition, but I know it's in vain T.T

I also heard great things about the director since his previous work includes It’s Okay, That’s Love, etc. I personally hadn’t watched anything in his filmography before MLSHR, so I can’t judge him on that. However, I can judge him for all the awful things that went awry with MLSHR. 

Don’t get me wrong. There were things KKT did right. But the things that went wrong were so bad (the editing and music editing were two huge factors imo, among other things) that it cost the drama its audience at the beginning because people just ended up dropping it. Plus there were just a bunch of behind-the-scenes stories that revealed he was in no way prepared to handle a pre-produced drama. On top of that (yes, there’s more), he treats the fans like shit when they petition for an uncut DVD/Blu-ray release of the drama. Petitions like that are the norm in SK since they don’t tend to release kdramas in DVD format unless there’s a demand for it. There are just so many stories that have permanently soured this director for me. :/

I also read that about the original novel, which I guess is the one saving grace of ML’s frustrating ending. Basically, yes, the ending could’ve been worse than what we got. lol And yeah, the petition unfortunately won’t get us anywhere - but I do love how passionate the fans that remain still are, even a year later. :)
