Fuck. I need some discussion and commiseration over this idea in my head because it’s branching and now I don’t know which branch is more interesting.

First off, it’s a tiny!Jaskier deal. Like a few inches tall. Poor bard’s been cursed into appearing as a songbird for whatever reason and was caged and sold off to some backwater inn as punishment.

Of course Geralt will happen through town and be able to see through the curse, seeing not a bird but a wee man with wingy arms (because he deserves to at least get to fly!) singing songs about the innkeeper being cuckolded for the baker and other insults while the townspeople carry on, oblivious.

Now I’m torn between two worlds here.

Is it Jaskier the bard who’s been following Geralt for years, whatever point in their traveling they are? Imagine Geralt being drawn to the inn hearing Jaskier singing his songs and being confused at not seeing the bard at first. God, the angst if it’s post-break up.

Or is it a Jaskier the bard who’s just down on his luck? And as soon as he sees that Geralt can see through the spell begs for his aid. He’s a viscount, really, he swears! He’ll keep Geralt in coin for all his days if only he’ll help him!

All right, now I’m going to bed now that I’ve thrown this out there. It’s y’all’s problem now, suckers.

so I read this fic by @tajn-and-the-witcher where Jaskier pisses someone off and they turn him into a child and Geralt has to carry him around and tiny!jaskier is just so cute, I had to draw it

OK, I have a story idea but no time to write it so I'm just gonna post it here so that it's at least out there to maybe inspire someone else

IDEA: so in this au Jaskier's parents would've been abusive, eventually driving him to run away

So while he's adventuring with Geralt they come across an angry mage who curses Jaskier, de aging both his body and mind to when he was a child, including any injuries he had at the time. Geralt and Yennefer of course had no idea of his past life before this.

So now the two of them are stuck with a traumatized, hurting, tiny Jaskier and have to relearn how to act around him and the rest of the fic is just Geralt and Yen learning how to be parents and Jaskier learning how to live and trust once more

Do you think you'll ever do something where jaskier shrinks?

I've thought about it and how it would work. It'd be pretty different from my usual stuff because Geralt's such a badass, but that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Because even though Jaskier would be a wee little thing, Geralt would just...always know where he was. Always. Bitty bard trapped in the walls after fleeing a rat or some such? He'd be able to sniff and sound him out in seconds and punch right through the wall to rescue him. Tiny troubadour falls out of his personal saddlebag while Geralt's off on a hunt because something startles Roach? As soon as he's done he'd track him through whatever terrain he happened to get lost in. Witchers are insane.

And Geralt is already stronger than average people so he's used to dialing it back; he'd never hold Jaskier roughly--or at least not so rough as to actually hurt him. He could pin him down and make him feel so good with just the tips of his fingers because he's found that a worn out bard gets into less trouble.

Hell, give Jaskier a bit of indestructibility and we can see how far he'd really go to get that bit of pleasure...and what lengths Geralt would go to to keep him contained. If he didn't have to worry about actually hurting the bard he'd be a bit more unrestrained with him. Not the point of cruelty, I can't write that, but doing things just to annoy and piss Jaskier off even if he would still be able to hear the pointed sing-shouting from his boots or his pants.
