I checked the anti trans laws trying to be pushed in my state. Thankfully theres only 1-2, and I am out of the targeted age range.
That doesn’t make these bills okay, no governing power should be trying to deprive people of care.
but in my particular case it buys me time, I don’t have to make any rash / panic attack inducing decisions to move out of state or out of the country.
I am currently walking a fine line, and a shift supervisor at starbucks I have a pretty open book to transpher to any starbucks that will take me.
I’ve been wanting to get into an electritians apprentiship though and that’s much more precarious, in minnesota an electritians apprentice doesn’t make any more money than I make right now, in a state with a higher cost of living, so if I had to move to minnesota an electritians apprentiship would not be feasable.
If I had to I could work towards promoting further in starbucks (but I don’t really want to do that, I will if it’s my best option)
As far as my research goes the other trans states I would be willing to move to if forced are Colorado and Washington, or there’s always Canada which may take trans people as refugees.
I really don’t want to move to the other side of the country away from my family and everything I know though.
I’m hopeful with the younger generation coming into voting age and elections approaching we might be able to turn the tide, but only time will tell
