Ok it was my first day with the cane! It was a short school day and I actually didn’t need to do that much walking so I don’t know for sure, but I think it helped! I’m a little shaky today, maybe because I had a bit of anxiety going in. Anyways, it was nice! Not too many comments right now so that’s nice too.
I did hurt my hand a little because I didn’t know how much pressure to apply but I think I have the hang of it now. Tomorrow, I will definitely be walking a lot more and possibly taking the big staircase up to level 3 (I don’t have a doctors note yet so I don’t think I’m allowed on the elevators) so I’ll see how it goes.
Hey so I figured I'd show that project we just finished! I present, the rollerbox, the portable gaming system that was mostly just fun to build.
I just wanted a fighting stick that was kinda portable because I thought it would be cool and then found this sick box at the antique store and then my dad was like. Well I have a lot of leftover wood and so this was born.

Currently its mostly for emulating older games, but I'm gonna throw on some more modern fighting and multiplayer games when I get off my ass because why not.
Its of course still being tweaked but I have it in a more show off able state so I thought I would ^-^ its taken me and my dad a while to engineer and put it together through software being buggy to almost killing the motherboard when it was almost complete, but I'm really happy we did this.

To explain what's in it, we took an old lenovo that had its hinges broken years ago and pretty much ripped it apart to make it a bit smaller form factor, and then we soldered some wires to the power button so we could turn it on with an arcade button, along with mounting it in the top.
Its mostly held in by the wood bezel currently but there's son hot glue in there too lol.
The buttons and joystick are all the usual, just wired to a random board that USBs into a port. The USB for extra controllers is on an extender and we just cut them out of a USB hub we had. The bottom of the controls is a mess of wires and string but it works!!
i want my next dnd character to be a bard whose mother was swooned by a warlock and the warlock made a pact with a demon for their powers that their first born child would go to said demon and they don't know they have said kid (my character) and my mom didn't know about said pact and so now the bard is on a hunt to find their warlock father and the demon to slap the fuck out of them
