Casiguapo!... and wow, so many scratches
Apparently the ground at Saratoga was still pretty sticky yesterday, and while Sweet Reason was a carefree kind of winner, I'm not privvy to believing that sort of performance will carry over to Santa Anita. I didn't do the late pick 4, but thanks to a friend's advisement in the third leg of the early pick 4, I got 3 of 4 legs there for a $12 loss. Really not that bad. I just wish I hadn't clipped off D'princess after originally including her. :(
No pick 4... way way way too many scratches... more scratches than horses actually running! So, I will just blather about my Hopeful horse. Because of the track, I really have no idea what I'm doing today so try not to listen to me.
The Hopeful Stakes: Another tough race, with or without surface issues, to figure out. The horse I was hinting out on Friday that I liked for this race ships in Trinniberg-style from Calder Race Course off a MILE workout and two :35 zippers: the talented Casiguapo, who debuted in a Florida stake to run 3rd then ran back big to win by 11. Big Sugar Soda had an easy time in his maiden break, including besting a horse I like in Grand Arrival, a colt who broke his maiden over the weekend. Wired Bryan has done little wrong, and gets a big rooting interest in running hard again. I also like the Lukas horse Strong Mandate, by Tiznow out of a G1 winning daughter of Deputy Minister... although I reason pedigree and trainer may be the same reason to use him NEXT year as a three-year-old.
I might do one last heart bet of the meet on Casiguapo, but other than that, it's been nice knowing you, Saratoga! 'Til next year!
