Asking the creator, did Scribbles death hit you hard? Or was it more of a 'fuck shit dammit' with mild disappointment? Mostly out of curiosity than anything else.
Most nuzlocke deaths hit me hard if I’ve worked hard on training the Pokemon. Scribbles was a Pokemon that cheated death time and time again, hanging on by the skin of her teeth. She’s had multiple instances where she survived with 3 HP, and great moments where she landed clutch critical hits— especially in the radio tower. (I neglected showing these as I felt it would foreshadow her death too much.)
Scribbles was by no means the cream of the crop, but training a Pokemon for a long time and going through tense emotions with it makes you admire it more and grow fond of it.
Like when I lost Manby, the instant I realized Scribbles was dead I felt a sinking sensation in my stomach. There was more than mild disappointment, and I felt a lingering feeling of regret while finishing Proton off. Because I could have prevented her death.
Losing Scribbles was hard, but honestly, Sir Manby has still been the hardest loss on me. Probably because he was the first veteran to go. I had such a hard time writing his death, even. I did feel awful for Scribbles back then, but compared to Manby I wrote her death pretty easily.
