The final night’s festivities seemed to have left a few of the men suffering hangovers in its wake. Shane managed to avoid one himself, having remained within his limits for the most part, though he did push it some. All in all, he did enjoy the short break they’d been given. It was much-needed for many of them. But it was back to war for them all now. The first sergeant had been focused on inspecting the machine gun he primarily operated with his partner when he heard footsteps approaching. “The trigger began to stick during its last use," he felt compelled to explain before looking up from the weapon.
