Okay, so there are some problems with the logic in this ask.
First off, “it’s covered more in the novelization” is not…relevant. The novelization is not the main piece of media we see Kylo Ren in. You do not get a free copy of the novelization when you buy a ticket to see Star Wars. There should not be an expectation that “oh, it’s in the novelization” equals a character point. You can see that material as supplemental, as fanfic fodder, but you cannot give it the same credence as the films.
So this line bothers me: “Now, if we are to believe the Force Bond was set up by Snoke and he was responsible for linking their minds across the galaxy (I don’t deny this at all), how is it too hard to consider that the same Snoke could enter young Ben’s mind remotely in a similar fashion? And being unknown, millions of lightyears away, how would anyone be able to stop it?” Because it’s all supposition. I’m not saying that Snoke DIDN’T groom and abuse young Ben’s mind in a galaxy far far away, I am saying that we do not know concretely that is what happened. We do not know Kylo’s age when he sold his soul to Snoke. This is a great theory, but it’s not been concretely proven onscreen in front of us. This is something CS shippers do, they string things together that MIGHT be true and pretend it’s canon and get mad when people call them out for it. It drives me fucking nuts.
That being said, sure. I could conceivably accept Kylo Ren as a survivor of abuse from Snoke. But…the thing is…he killed Snoke. Snoke is dead. We can’t use Snoke as an excuse for Kylo’s bad behavior anymore. Kylo is responsible for his own actions and right now, his choice is to try and destroy my girl Rey because she didn’t want to deal with his Dark Lord Bullshit any longer.
And again…someone else’s abuse does not greenlight them to abuse others. If we’re buying that Kylo Ren was groomed and gaslit by Snoke, then guess what chuckleheads, he is now essentially trying to do to Rey what was done to him and that is fucked up. That is perpetuating the cycle of abuse, that is disgusting, and I will not tolerate it for someone as amazing as Rey. I will not allow us to romanticize that kind of gross shit because it is harmful as fuck.
