frank, I'm not feeling well right now, can you give me a kiss on the forehead and remind me that loneliness doesn't last forever?
I feel like there's an element here where Frank thinks of her own feelings of loneliness as universal human experience and I'm like "hey, I know what's going on here, but it's really different from how I feel, so you don't need to bring it up all the time"
Which is a lot less flattering than I think you intend it to be, sorry
Due to the vagaries of fate, a lot of my friends are about ten years younger than me, and many of my readers (from zompist.com or the ZBB or my books) are 20 or more years younger. So, I thought so…
not the sort of thing I usually post but I liked this essay.
Ol' Zompist updated his American culture test and it's depressing.
Just in general this is awesome and way above my level and probably those of students in Eurocentric linguistics courses because not only do these guys explore the languages, old and new (of the entire world), but they delve quite deep into them and have a vast knowledge of the development of Australian, Native American, and African languages of all families, including the ones that are now dead. There's a lot to learn from here!!

Now to get my cohort to read it fast so that I can get my hands on it.

I could show the individual level paths only they'd all be wavy lines like the canals.
