World of Warcraft: We Let Our Disabled Character Lay Down and Take a Nap (release date 2023)
“You have to believe in yourself. #warcraft #shadowlands #anduin #sylvanas #варкрафт #андуин #сильвана”
Freaking love this! \m/
Blizzard: You MAY or MAY NOT have to fight Anduin and MAY or MAY NOT have to kill him. I mean, probably not but it's always a possibility....

Thoughts on the Bell
So I just reread Before the Storm and I knew the first time I read it I got the impression that the aches Anduin gets was associated with the Light, but that’s not actually known for sure? There’s a line somewhere in game that the Bell was “shaped by stars’ fire, and bound by the breath of darkest shadow” which to me implies Light and Void. “Star’s fire” is pretty vague and could be arcane or something, but in the book pg 214:
“Anduin watched her carefully, taking a breath and centering himself. Light—let me know if she means them harm. He felt no responding ache in his bones, no hint that Calia Menethil was planning some kind of murderous coup. Her intentions were in alignment with the Light they both served.”
To me that says Anduin at least believes the aches are the Light talking to him, and there is SO MUCH narrative potential there! And no, I don’t think Blizz just forgot about the bell, Christie Golden who wrote Before the Storm is a main writer for Wow not just an author they pulled in off the street.
A potentially Light-Void-Titan connection to Anduin is going to become relevant at some point, if not during shadowlands then afterwards. The bell could play a role in freeing him from the Jailer, or what if despite being possessed to do horrible things, Anduin feels the bell punishing him the entire time despite having no control? That would be a pretty good reason for him to think the Light has “betrayed” him.
Another angle is the fact that Anduin views the aches as a strange “gift” that let’s him know what the right course of action is, but what happens when he realizes the Light isn’t always right, and it’s trying to force him down a certain path? Would the bell even let him realize that? If he is able to turn away from the Light - or if he’s been permanently cut off from it bc of the Jailer - what could the Void half of the Bell’s connection do?
