It's been a couple of months since Hajun had gone home early. It's been very busy at work since the opening of a couple more branches of his restaurant in the country and one more in Japan. He's very grateful for his staff and also Hasun, his cousin-in-law, who has been a big help. Now that the chef is managing one of the new branches in Seoul, Hajun has some time to take a breath. And when was the last time he saw his wife and exchanged more than two words with her? Thinking about getting home soon actually excited Hajun. As soon as he arrived, he asked for Nisa. One of the house staff informed him that his wife went up early tonight. It wasn't 8:00 o'clock yet, he thought of it unusual. Or perhaps this was the usual with Nisa when he wasn't around. The bedroom was empty when he walked in but the light in the bathroom was on. He began unbuttoning his shirt as he made his way to the bathroom where he found his wife just turning the water on, completely naked. She was surprised to see him; he thought of walking out. He didn't want to make her feel embarrassed. But then again, it wasn't like they haven't seen each other naked before. Besides, they're married. FAMILY HISTORY: Hasun came from a working class family. His mother is a homemaker and his father is a public servant. Education is important and his parents made sure that he went to the best schools so he could have a good future. Although Hasun was married into a rich family, he never relied on them financially although they insisted. He's a very talented chef which Hajun recognized and gave him a chance at one of the man's restaurants. He has many critics and people that doubt his true intentions and credibility - many said he married for money - but public support outweighed all the trolls' negative comments and drowned the haters' opinions. It helped that he married one of the public's sweethearts.

“Don’t stop. I like when you talk about food.”

It was a simple comment but somehow put Hajun at ease. He still felt anxious but what Nisa said, no matter where it came from - either a place of genuine encouragement or just something to say - gave him a space in this specific time and situation where he felt he belonged.

“I guess that’s one thing I will make sure I won’t fail at during this trip: making sure that you know enough about food and that we both eat well,” he offered a smile, picking up a glass of water that was poured earlier and sipping from it.

“I’m Korean, that’s my culture, food sharing,” the smile remained on his lips as he responded. He wondered if Nisa lived in Seoul or just visited even before they were engaged? “Our cultures aren’t that different, I think, we greet people usually by asking if they’ve eaten. We offer food when we have visitors, we share food when we hang out with friends… I’ll share most food but I draw the line on a good piece of chocolate cake,” he nodded with a frown, appearing serious but obviously attempting to make a joke.

“Anyway…” He paused, placing the glass of water back down on the table, sitting back, hands clasped over his lap, a way of soothing himself, “Are you enjoying the location so far?”

Nisa nodded her head, “You’re right there’s not much difference when it comes to culture, I’m not used to - “ She paused for a moment. Thinking of the right way to express her thoughts to him. She knew what she wanted to say but there was some hesitation on her part that he would see her differently and perhaps create some insecurity. “I like food. I’ve always enjoyed it but I’ve also been cautioned not to enjoy too much.” There was an expectation for her to remain beautiful and acceptable in the public eye. There was always someone watching and her mother made a constant point to remind her of such. Yet it was nice to be here with him and to even try to relax, without the idea that someone would be looking over her shoulder.

She quickly forgot those apprehensions and even the nerves bubbling and threatening to spill over in her stomach. “If you’re going to teach me about food and make sure that we eat well then I have to take responsibility for something too during the honeymoon.”

What could she ever teach a man like Hajun. He knew more than she ever could about her favorite subject, food. She thought for a moment in silence, brow furrowed and concentrating as he sipped his water. When it came to her, Nisa snapped her fingers. Smile spreading fully across her face as she sat up a little higher. “I’m now responsible for your wardrobe. I don’t think we can do a lot of shopping here but I’ll have full approval rights on what you wear each day and maybe if you feel comfortable, you can even let me play with your hair.” It was a big ask, “Only if you’re okay with it.”
