“I dunno… what’s wrong with sports bras?”
Five days on the road passed with little issue. For the first few, the going was easy and the settlements were frequent. They encountered many travelers and routine patrols. The temperate lands melded into the wide prairies of the Golden Fold. It was beautiful and they made good time, but come the 4th day the land began to turn sparse and rocky. The air was dryer and civilization abruptly ended on either side of their wagon-worn road. Now, nearing sunset on the fifth day, Gisha crested the last hilltop and paused to reflect upon the town of Galmere.
The settlement baked at the edge of a massive gorge. Dry, ramshackle, wooden buildings crowded right up to the edge were cranes and lifts and other indurstrial structures dangled over the side. The gorge itself was wide and deep enough to prevent the construction of any bridges, but there were cables and gondolas spanning the chasm to the other side. The far edge was speckled by mining industry and a fort, literally built into the cliff face.
“Galmere” Gisha said. “They call it the gateway to the badlands… it’s more of a pothole to me. It’s also not really under Imperial control… at least it wasn’t the last time I was here, so we should tread carefully. Let’s find an inn.”

Oh... oh this was a special kind of stupidity for Rain. Even without having a trace of her influence in him any longer, this man STILL questions his judgment. To be so heavily against his companion, all because she is 'an infernal'... either history has not been kind to her people or some long-standing stigma still grips the people here.
What made it worse was how she was slightly covering for the paladin, likely to avoid the knight reacting worse.
Once back at the Inn, a nod was given in agreement, though upon the request to turn around, he would comply, but even after she said he could turn, he hadn't. "...We do have to discuss what happened, Gisha. I felt something being removed when that moron forced you to 'release the professor'," Though it was in a mocking tone to the paladin, he retained the serious nature of the topic. "Now, clearly, you are not doing anything untoward to me. I can feel you value your professionalism and guild member status, but, what exactly happened? I do not feel like it was doing much to me, I still would have paid for you and handed you the funds you needed. Perhaps I am just some naive 'rich boy', but I genuinely am unaware of the prices of things and I often abide by the rule of 'rather have too much and not need it, than too little and need it.'"
Gisha sat cross legged on the bed. She applied a small wax to her horns. The process looked difficult, but she was doing it absentmindedly. After an appropriate pause, she spoke again. “Our contract didn’t say I couldn’t…” she said quietly.
She knew that wasn’t going to be enough. In fact, she worried it might enrage him. “My powers are not idle… I struggle to speak to anyone without exerting a small influence.” She struggled to wax the cranial-side of her horns as she explained. “And short of a Paladin of Banor showing up and threatening me… you might have never known and we would be no worse for wear.”
Her brow furrowed a little as she realized she was soothing him again, trying to ease the conversation. She hadn’t even noticed.
Mouth opened for a moment before closing and folding his arms over his chest, hand coming up to hold onto his chin and lips while looking down. "No no... That is a fair point... I swear I can hear Shima and his employed goblins lecturing me already..." That last part was mumbled under his breath before looking back up at her and raising an eyebrow. A small blink was given before nodding slowly, a notepad being pulled out and some details being jot down. "I see..."
Once it was closed, eyes gazing over at her, he noticed the struggle and the slight influence before letting out a soft sigh. "Forgive me. I should have considered such to be the case and maintained my trust in you. I do hope you will continue to take care of me and keep our arrangement. Going forward, I will place my complete faith in you. Besides... I would think that such influence would be beneficial to a worry-wart like myself." A slight jab at himself to hopefully ease any potential tension while he eyed her horns.
"Do you require any assistance with your horns? I am not familiar with the daily rituals needed for keeping them in top condition, but if you instruct me how, I should be able to provide some aid." An offer made in earnest while moving a touch closer to the succubus more... curious than anything.
It hurt that he had become aware of the ongoing soothe. Now that she was aware that he was aware, she felt ashamed. Gisha constantly wished for acceptance. She resented the assumptions made against her. Now here she was, meeting at least a portion of those assumptions.
“No. You do not need forgiveness” she said quietly. “If I assert my influence on you again… it is entirely unconsciously. I will do my best to avoid it.”
She lowered the wax slowly, then looked at it. The small bar was useful in protecting her cranial horns from the elements. It promoted healthy growth, but it was a pain to put on in even costs. “I… suppose that would be helpful” she said cautiously. “Come, sit at the edge of the bed.” She slumped down to the floor with her back to him, then offered the wax bar.
"If you cannot help such, I see no reason to be bothered by it. Your existence is not something to apologize more, and you already do your best to try and avoid there being any issue while it is active. Skies, I will even admit that such an influence was... nice. I tend to be so wound up and tense at times that I often forget to relax for a moment, having this effect has let me be more at ease... I truly do not mind it." Perhaps it was coddling or going overboard to assure their working relationship remained fine, but if such was needed, it was fine.
Deciding that such was a fair stop, at least for the moment, of that conversation, the mage would listen and watch her. When instructed to approach, Rain went over and sat where told before taking the wax bar. The premise was simple enough for him to understand... how delicate he had to be... was not.
Mimicking, to the best of his abilities, how she was applying such just a moment ago, he decided to ask a few more questions. "This wax for your horns... assuming this is to act as a layer against the elements, can I take it that your horns struggle with enduring such? Like extreme cold potentially being a problem or some even causing chipping that could lead to problems? I am friends with another who has horns and he has claimed that maintenance can be annoying, but is needed as they can lead to health problems otherwise."
“Just as one lotions the skin to protect from the elements, so too do I wax my horns” she said quietly. “It is not an uncommon practice among demons living in this realm.” She closed her eyes lulled her head back a little so he could reach better. Though she had no nerve endings in her horns, it still felt kind of nice to have someone else doing it. “Sunlight, water, dry air… it all sort of erodes them. Mind you, they’re always growing, but it’s more beneficial to keep them strong and undamaged.”
When she was satisfied, she took the wax back from him and stored it. She climbed back into the bed. “Alright… tomorrow, some supplies, then we make our move. You should get some sleep… I intend to put a lot of distance in once we’re across the chasm.
“Look, would you rather be smart, beautiful or cool? It’s not complicated…. I’m cool as hell, which gives me beautiful and smart friends to do all my bidding.”

There was a chance it could potentially learn and teach the spell to her... but it would just be easier if they had some sort of device. Misfires, Silence spells, even minor lapses in concentration could causes issues... Even still, it would still be wise to have such in their back pocket. Next time they separate, two scrolls would have to be purchased and, hopefully, both spells would be learned.
When pausing to finally notice their surroundings, he was at the gondolas with Gisha. Taking in and memorizing the area around him, careful not to make a sound while they were here. Likely, she would either charm the guards, or he could even use his own talents to help get them through. A confirmation nod was given before taking a peek over the chasm.
"It is a sound plan, I am in full compliance with it. However, I do want you staying close to me if we have to jump for any reason. I do not wish to reveal my full hand just yet, so I will have to ask you to trust me on this, and hopefully it will not come to that. As for the guards... do you plan to bribe or charm them? If possible, I would like to limit the number of charmed guards here... but if it is the only way, then it is fine." A pause while looking at her.
"I do not mind spending the day doing food prep either, so how much do you think we will need for this?"
Gisha was astounded. “Jump…?” She asked, incredulous as her green eyes turned towards the chasm. “I doubt that would be in the cards for us… it’s all mithril mines down there and probably no way out.” She shrugged. “I’d sooner take my chances up there… besides the drop would kill us.”
Then she raised an eyebrow at him. “Oh? You take issue with my methods? It’s mostly harmless, you know… and it gets us out of trouble.” Her tail swished about knowingly. “Or maybe there’s a personal reason you’re not telling me?” She smirked slyly, eyes narrowed with mischief before she stepped past him.
“We need provisions for at least a week… things that won’t spoil in the desert. There won’t be any food for foraging and the only whatever water we carry with us, understand?
In truth... asking for THAT level of trust when the coin was the only thing bonding them at the moment was definitely quite the ask. They still needed time to build a rapport with each other, grow more comfortable, and get to know one another a little more. Not to mention, he would have to force more of his hand and reveal just how much power he truly held. Being quiet about this was far better for the both of them.
When calling out Rain on why he might have had an issue with her charming, a bit of pink appeared on his cheeks before looking away from her. "E-Erm... There is... I-I mean... It-It just seems..." Oh how being flustered caused him to be at a loss for words. Seems like she already knew what buttons to press to get him fumbling his speech and thoughts.
The comment about provisions caused him to nod. "R-Right. I will do my best to prepare enough rations for two weeks, just to be safe. Wa-water will be no problem as I do have access to magic that can create such." A small pause. "How cold will the nights be getting there? I could purchase more blankets and softer cushions for us so our rest is more... peaceful."
“I wouldn’t worry too much about the cold… you’ve got me around” she joked as a small, pink flame wobbled between her fingers before extinguishing. She deliberately chose not to elaborate on that comment. She stepped down the nearest set of stairs, heading back into the maze of barracks buildings towards the inn. “Come along now, mister Rainald” she said quietly and confidently.
Runic threads snapped taut around her torso and limbs. The grew a bright gold as the succubus toppled and landed on her knees. Her tail whipped in agitation as she grunted.
“Hold demon…” came a voice from the nearest corner. A figure in light plate armor and green vestments emerged, tome in hand. The human male was handsome, rugged and clearly the one responsible for the spell. With clairvoyance, he made a gesture with his hands that brought a dim radiance to the space around Gisha. The succubus cringed with discomfort. “Be still, for the Light of Banor subdues your malice. Break ye of fiend heart and bequeath your sour grasp…”
“What the fuck!?” Gisha snarled.
The paladin smirked forgivingly, unsheathed his long sword and hefted it onto his shoulder. The weapon gleamed with a splendor unbound by the night. It seemed to gather the starlight and reflect it twice fold. “Verse, I know…” he chuckled. “Let me try again: Hold still or my god-driven spell with slice you into fiendish chunks. Reduce that lust cloud of yours and release the academic man from your influence…” he nodded towards Rainald.
Gisha glared at him, but melted slightly, her shoulders slumping a little. Rainald, surprisingly, would feel something leave him… a minor influence that soothed his feelings, like a positive perception of Gisha that he didn’t realize he had. “Stay back, Professor Rainald” said the paladin, opening his tome. “Assistance will be forthcoming… allow me to deal with this hellspawn first.”
More pink could been seen on his cheeks, his mind clearly drifting to... 'other' means of warmth as he swallowed a bit. She was followed as they were making their way back to the Inn when he noticed the magic in the air. An eyebrow was raised, but before he could react, Gisha was bound and ended up dropping to her knees. Rain froze for a moment as he searched his mind on what to do in this moment and tried to figure out what was wrong.
Hearing that voice coming from the corner and watching the other, eyes were scanning for some form of similarity between this man and the guards or anyone else they'd seen. Were they caught? Was this the time to flee? The radiance around only Gisha gave him a hint that perhaps... he was being 'saved'? That... that annoyed him.
While searching his feelings, he felt Gisha's influence leave him and turned to her for a moment. Well... that stung a bit... seems his own resistances to charm were not as effective here as he thought... but... a knight does not go back on his word or his chosen companion. The scar on his back is proof of that foolishness.
Orange locks now draped over his eyes while looking towards the paladin before looking back at Gisha. "You know... This is going to cause a lot of discussion." Such was stated while walking next to the other male. "<Dismissal>. <Bound by Earth>." As soon as the words spoken in his native tongue, from his own world, the magic binding Gisha disappeared with a brief blue glow. At the same time, the earth rose up around the paladin and grabbed hold of the man's wrists and swallowed his feet before solidifying with a likeness to concrete. "That will be between us, and do not underestimate a knight nor give assistance where none was needed..." The retort was cold, almost venomous as he went back over to Gisha and helped her up onto her feet. "You and I will have a proper discussion elsewhere... for now..." Extending a finger and as if drawing a line in the fabric of the world itself, a portal was opened and from out of it, Rainald pulled out his staff.
Staring daggers at the paladin, he would snarl. "Who sent you and why? Answers not given in a timely fashion will result in those bindings growing tighter and more to be added elsewhere... Oh and abit of a warning... I am not the best at torture for this... Most of those I question end up unable to speak much longer after I have detained them..." It was a threat, plain and simple.
The paladin was almost cautious as Rainald approached, more out of safety than a sense of threat. “Professir- professor please, stay back, I-“
He was truly and completely taken aback when his magic, powered by a divinity pact, was dispelled and the ground came up to ensnare him. “What is this… this trickery?” He nearly dropped his blade, bewildered. He didn’t understand on more than one level. Why was the professor so adept at magic? Why was he defending a demon? Why was he standing before a paladin?
Gisha collapsed in the dirt, but allowed herself to be helped to her feet. She drew her blade as pink fire lapped along her arms and surrounded her feet. Still, the paladin only stared. “I… I am ordained of the Light of Banor. I serve the Imperial Court, but answer to the divinity.” His answer was plain and straightforward, like it should be obvious.
“Rain, he’s a knight of a religious order… a paladin. This is just his job,” Gisha said, diminishing her flames.
Still confused, the paladin nodded. “For my part, the creature speaks the truth… I am not alone here. There is a band of us and the town is rife with rumors of a succubus and her vassal…” he shrugged and gave Rainald a discouraged expression. “This is our task, professor… I know not what influence this she-demon has upon you, but she cannot be allowed. She must not persist here and endanger the people of this plane…”
“Im a licensed member of the fighters guild” Gisha growled. That positioned offered her some legitimacy. The paladin deflated slightly. “That… can’t be… the guild? A fiend? But that would make you a citizen of the Empire…?”
Gisha started walking away, back towards the inn. “Unfortunately that’s the only way to get by around here” she huffed, expecting Rainald to follow.
A vein grew on his forehead and eyes flashed blue for a brief second before pointer finger and thumb were pressed to his temples to help him calm down. "I was not influenced by her. That brief bit that was dispelled was likely for my benefit as I tend to get overly excited and make mistakes or grow anxious. Nothing she has done has crossed any lines that have been set, and whomever sent you or spread such is a filthy liar ands reprobate. Know this and etch it into your memory while passing this onto your fellows." The knight got up close. "I am not some whelp who cannot fend for himself. I did not suffer the scars on my body nor the years of training to be treated like some helpless babe. Sod off, tha lot of ya."
"<Dismissal.>" The bindings around the paladin were dismissed before Rainald shoved his shoulder into the other's to catch up to Gisha.
"I swear to the Skies Above, my irritation with how you are being treated is starting to peak." A line was drawn to open the portal again and the staff he held was dropped into it while he scoffs. "I feel like we could both use a drink, but honestly, I would sooner deal with that braggard again before risking another issue with ignorant masses." Growling while pushing his hair back and shaking his head.
". . . Are you alright? You were not hurt in any way right? Preparations are one thing, but recovering is another... though I doubt you would wish to stay here any longer than we have to now..."
"Then why do you follow her...?" The paladin asked, truly not understanding. "A fiend of the infernal plane? What if her masters call upon her-"
"I do not have masters" Gisha snapped, even from her great distance. Her voice pierced the night air as she stood for a moment, then continued on towards the inn. The paladin set his blade against the dirt and leaned on it, offering the two of them a serious look as they departed.
"No. It didn't hurt..." she lied. "Just that Light of Banor was just uncomfortable. The pantheon doesn't actually care what happens to infernals like me. It's up to humans to use their light to cause pain." She rolled her shoulder a little. "Not the first time and won't be the last."
She guided them back to the inn where things were mostly dying down for the night. Most workers were either in bed or on their respective night shift in the mines. Gisha grabbed some food from the tavern and brought it upstairs with them. "Nothing has changed in our plans. We quickly buy some supplies tomorrow... a few extra sacks for food, pemmican, eye shades, a few extra water skins and one or two special items." She made a motion for Rainald to turn around as she disrobed. "Then, at the nightfall shift change, we distract the guards and sneak across the chasm... then we're in the unclaimed lands and on our way."
She washed herself with a wet cloth, examining the minor burns left by the Paladin's spell, then dressing again in a manner that would hide them from Rainald. "You can turn around" she said when she was done.
Five days on the road passed with little issue. For the first few, the going was easy and the settlements were frequent. They encountered many travelers and routine patrols.
Nalina slumped a little and scratched her cheek, looking dejected. “Nah… I don’t wear bikinis anymore, gold or otherwise.”

The dwarf nodded once, then turned back to the taps.
The fervor of the room had picked back up. Conversations had resumed and business slowly returned to normal, but many eyes still flicked their way, especially at Gisha. Some were curious, others hateful. They were, after all, far from the imperial central lands and the metropolitan ideas there. Out here, Gisha stuck out like a sore thumb.
The dwarf put drinks down in front of both of them. “Eight copper bits… or five script” he said, clearly unsure if they used common currency or the local currency. “And uh… boss says he don’t want any trouble, you understand?” He was talking at Gisha. “We run a tight establishment here and we serve all sorts… but I’ve never seen… well, one like uh… one like you.”
Gisha gave him a cool expression, tilting her head slightly as if ponderous. “One like me? How so? What makes me so different?”
The dwarf became flustered, exacerbated by Gisha’s aura pushing out slightly, embracing her space with pleasant feelings. “Well I think you’re a- well what I mean is- I’ve only heard stories…”
“Stories? About… me?” She gave him only the slightest of smiles. The dwarf turned red. “Aye” he replied, then turned away abruptly to go service someone else. Gisha’s aura faded back a little and her tail swayed knowingly. “I didn’t see any open tables… but once we’re done with these drinks, I need to show you something… preferably after sundown.”
She took a long drink of her mead. “I didn’t purchase anything yet… I need you to come with me so we can fit a few things.”
Rainald would squint with annoyance at the blatant disrespect that Gisha was shown. Clicking his tongue before handing over exactly eight copper coins. Normally, he would not be so stingy, but after just playing messenger with no offer of apologies, he was not in the mood to be as generous as he would normally be.
The comment about the 'stories' that have been heard almost warranted a response, but he would bite his tongue and allow Gisha to handle it, though... it was unfortunate that she felt the need to use her charm again.
"Personally, after the reception just got here, I do not think I would wish to provide this place with any more of our funds. Quite frankly, that eight copper already felt like too much," Nearly hissing while downing a considerable amount of his own drink. "To be so open with it too... everyone here should be ashamed." Pinching the bridge of his noise for a moment before letting out a sigh.
Hearing that she wished to show him something and had yet to purchase anything caused an eyebrow to be raised. "Hmm... Do you know of a way for long distance communication? It seems like we could have done more with today if we had such since it seems like you needed me for some of this."
“Yeah that would have been nice to have,” she snickered.
A short while later they were moving quietly through the industrial streets. All around them, workers houses hid muffled sounds and voices. The walls hid hundreds of miners, all of whom were smoking and drinking, playing cards or gambling, talking and singing as they enjoyed their limited free time. Even so, the night outside was complete. No one was around to see a succubus and a mage slinking towards the gondolas.
Gisha crouched at an overlook, peering two buildings over where the gondola launch hung over the precipice. Two guards were on duty but the rest of the platform was empty. “In the daytime” she whispered, “this place is overrun with people and they’re all in lines. We would never go unnoticed if we wanted to sneak across. But at night…” she nodded towards the two guards. “It’s a much smaller problem.”
This close to the chasm, the depth was truly at scale. Tiny lights flickered hundreds of feet below like a second sky. There truly was no other way across.
“I think we should stay tonight, prepare tomorrow… and then get by those guards and sneak across this time tomorrow. What do you think?” Her tail flipped curiously.
//Sorry it’s been slow this weekend… I’ve been at training. I’m going to try to pick up on stuff again tonight maybe

Gisha scoped out the gondolas, examining the comings and goings of miners and workers. There were plenty more guards around, but their presence was more administrative than militant. She then ventured into the supply shops and garrison outfitters for a little browsing. She decided against buying anything without having Rainald present.
“Ah… you’re waiting outside?” She said as she approached. She gave him a little push on the back of the shoulder. “Come along” she pushed the door open and entered.
The smokey interior was orange with candle light. Someone was playing a fiddle on a small corner stage. All the tables were crowded with off duty guards, miners, workers and some travels. A lot of eyes turned on Gisha as she entered. She saw them, but made no notice of it. She guided Rainald to the bar with total confidence, her horns, tail and demonic complexion all on full display.
The dwarf being the bar blinked at them. “Afternoon- what’ll you be having?”
“Mead” Gisha said neutrally. “I’m on his tab” she shunted her thumb towards Rainald. The dwarf looked at him.

Gisha sighed. "You say that now... we haven't met any casters in vestments yet. You don't understand the depth of the taboo, Rainald." She cast off her belt and sheath, then her sash. "I don't know where you walk and see such couples... but my experience has been less accommodating."
Gisha tried to imagine things like elves and dragons cavorting, but it seemed preposterous. "You have some high fantasies..." she muttered, then began unbuttoning her shirt. "Turn around for a few minutes." She didn't actually look to see if he was complying.
"If you insist, I will take the bed" she said calmly, disrobing and then wetting a cloth to wipe herself down a little. "If I'm being completely honest... I don't think we should share. It's... probably for your own good." She put on her silk shirt and underwear, then walked by him to signal she was done. Standing beside him, she took off her jewelry. "You uh... sort of reacted badly at the gate, no offense. Most people don't handle it well the first time. But I think it's best if you sleep on the floor." Setting all her things into her bag, she moved back to the bed, gracefully positioned herself cross-legged to face him. "So... lets talk about tomorrow. I'm sure you noticed the giant chasm on the way in?"
The moment she began to unbutton her top, he spun on his heel and faced away from her. A small bit of pink on his cheeks, but something he will just have to get used to. There was still a frown due to hearing of her past experiences, a silent hope that nothing too horrible had happened to her, but once he heard she'd take the bed, a small cocky smirk grew.
He'd called it right, the chances of her sharing the bed was slim, so she would clearly take the bed. Though... hearing that it was for his own good caused an eyebrow to raise. Before protesting, he decided to remain quiet to hear her out. Once she passed by him, he took notice of her nightwear and blinked for a moment... it was... cute. Though upon mentioning the gate, some more pink appeared on his cheeks and a small bit of a pout. "Well I am unaware what you are talking about... I was more taken off-guard by how you charmed the guard... I expected a spell or some form of mist... d-direct contact was not something I was prepared to see s-so... that is why I reacted the way I did... I... am not all that skilled in public displays such as that." Admitting such while scratching the back of his head and looking away from her.
While setting himself up on the floor, he would use his spell to switch outfits again before looking over to her. An eyebrow was raised as she made mention of the chasm, but he gave a small nod. "I did. Is such going to be our destination for tomorrow?" The question came while he sat on his makeshift bed and looked up at her from the floor.
“There’s no spell, as I’m sure you’ll come to see more….” She said quietly.
We must cross the chasm south… gondolas are the way most people get across. I know another route far to the East… two days perhaps. Well out of our way.” She laced her fingers in front of her as her tail began to sway behind her. “The state of Galmere is… different than I expected. The empire is exerting some amount of control here, which apparently means we need papers and identification and bleh” she made a condescending gesture with her hand. “I’m worried we’re going to need those documents again to cross the chasm… it’s probably the mining guilds here trying to control who gets in and out of the mines across the chasm.”
She traced the edge of a seam on the comforter. “I think we should take the day tomorrow so I can scout the gondolas and figure out if this is going to work. In the meantime we can supply ourselves for the desert using your limitless supply of funds.”
"Oh yes, clearly... I was unaware of how such charming works, but uh... n-now I know." Looking away for a moment before looking back.
The information she gave him told him enough. Seems like the 'Empire' is trying to maintain hold on this land in order to make use and control it's resources. Likely, due to how fairly easily it was to make it past the guards, even with the charm, they did not have the sway, power, or man-power in order to keep total control, but just enough to hold it down. If they need more documents, then that could be an issue as he would need something he has no idea how to get, or worse, something that would take a long time to get. Considering it's paperwork, it is likely that no amount of funds can speed it up to being obtained within a day, so... best to try and avoid such issues.
Her suggestion was met with a nod and then a bit of a chuckle. "Ha, a claim I often hear. If you need, I can supply you with... what, 20 gold piece should be fine to grab anything we might need right? When you meet back with me, after scouting, we can go and procure more goods we might need. Maybe even see if someone can 'assist' us with documentation... though such should be reserved as a 'last resort' type of deal."
Gisha’s eyes widened. “Twenty gold pieces… you have twenty gold pieces to spend on supplies? We could buy a carriage for that.” She ran her hand along one of her horns in disbelief. “Sometime you’ll really have to explain to me where all this comes from. In the meantime… maybe don’t flaunt that wealth too much in places like this.” She shrugged, then slipped into the bedding. “I’ll get on it first thing…”
In the morning, Gisha departed the room to bathe, then returned smelling fragrant and resplendent. Her aura was a bit more noticeable, though still idle. “You should try the bath down the hall” she hummed pleasantly. “Quite lovely, all considered.”
Once she had collected her things, she stood by the door. “You should keep your head down while I’m gone. There’s a saloon next door… maybe a few nearby shops.” She shrugged. “Just don’t go anywhere that guards might start asking questions, got it? I’ll find you when I’m done.”
