It is with profound disappointment that we report the industry CEOs have walked away from the bargaining table after refusing to counter our latest offer. (1/11)

We have negotiated with them in good faith, despite the fact that last week they presented an offer that was, shockingly, worth less than they proposed before the strike began.

These companies refuse to protect performers from being replaced by AI, they refuse to increase your wages to keep up with inflation, and they refuse to share a tiny portion of the immense revenue YOUR work generates for them.

We have made big, meaningful counters on our end, including completely transforming our revenue share proposal, which would cost the companies less than 57¢ per subscriber each year. They have rejected our proposals and refused to counter.

Instead they use bully tactics. Just tonight, they intentionally misrepresented to the press the cost of the above proposal – overstating it by 60%.

They have done the same with A.I., claiming to protect performer consent, but continuing to demand “consent” on the first day of employment for use of a performer’s digital replica for an entire cinematic universe (or any franchise project).

The companies are using the same failed strategy they tried to inflict on the WGA – putting out misleading information in an attempt to fool our members into abandoning our solidarity and putting pressure on our negotiators.

But, just like the writers, our members are smarter than that and will not be fooled.

We feel the pain these companies have inflicted on our members, our strike captains, IATSE, Teamsters and Basic Crafts union members, and everyone in this industry. We have sacrificed too much to capitulate to their stonewalling and greed.

We stand united and ready to negotiate today, tomorrow, and every day.

Our resolve is unwavering. Join us on picket lines and at solidarity events around the country and let your voices be heard.

One day longer. One day stronger. As long as it takes.

Hey creators, mostly artists, heads up: Redbubble has added another fee. 

A HUGE fee. They make 85% off your sales now. Here’s a bit of a breakdown, using their numbers that I got from their own page: https://blog.redbubble.com/2023/04/how-account-fees-may-apply-to-you/

You sell $300 in products. You earn $75 from it. THE REST GOES TO REDBUBBLE. 

That’s already like WHAT REALLY, but now, with the new fee, you earn $47 actually. they get 85% now. They take nearly half of the pittance we were getting. Are you KIDDING ME

Their page says  “Let’s say you earn $15.50 in May. Then you will be charged $6.15 as an account fee. Your earnings for May are ($15.50 – $6.15) = $9.35.”

Half of $15.50 is $7.75. $9.35 is only $1.60 from $7.75 

I make MAYBE $30-50 on redbubble, on a GOOD month. now it’ll be $15-25. HECK

hi i am autustic i have no empathy i also have a so called “strong sense of justice.” we exist. what you say is not a gotcha. it just shows how shallow of an understanding of autism is.

if you’re an autistic w high empathy, great! stop punching down at autistic w low empathy or people w low empathy in general.

are you saying people with low empathy don’t have a sense of justice? that we don’t know right from wrong? people with low empathy are incapable of justice? people w low empathy are always criminals or bigoted? that we should just all be locked up? because even if you never explicitly said that, your rhetoric aligns with the rest of people who perpetuate ableism at autistics with low empathy and people w cluster b personality disorders. it can easily be extended.

people need to learn the difference between empathy, sympathy, and compassion.

also, a strong sense of justice isn’t even a great way to put it. autistics online in social justice circles throw this around as if autistics are immune to propaganda and prejudice. as if autistics are always good and pure.

overwhelming amount of incels are autistic men (esp those who is/would be diagnosed as having asperger’s).

strong sense of justice just means many of us, when we believe something, we believe something very strongly. similar to how when we like something, we like something very strongly (special interest). when we feel something, we feel something very strongly (or the opposite).

if your only experience w autistic people are autistic people who are late dx, lower support needs, speaking, and **in social justice circles with the same belief as you**, you can’t reach a conclusion about all of autism based on this very narrow experience of autistic people.
