“He sounds nice I guess.” It was weird to put it in words because the Licht that had helped them, felt fatherly to him. Which was an unusual feeling for an orphan who didn’t know who his parents were. 

“A quiet, polite version of Asta would be nice.”

 “...Asta the one with the anti magic sword, right? The one who sliced my second body apart....boy I miss being tall.” right now he’s just as tall as Yuno, just a bit. His first body, he missed it, the height complexes he gave people.

He didn’t know what to say. Learning more about the elves was one thing but it was more or less to learn more about himself and the elf soul he’d been housing. 

“He felt familiar to me, because of the soul I had. I was just wondering how he’d have been as a father to him.”

 “....He was ... something else. Think... that guy with the big black sword, but more polite.” thats all he can say because some memories of the leader was too precious to let out.

“Sure, why not.” He had no problems with cats and dogs. They weren’t his preferred his animal, those were birds, but he wouldn’t deny them attention either. 

“You knew Licht, right? The real one?”

Huh. that was sudden. Then again... 

 “I guess. I mean Its hard to remember when my soul resurrected itself into a new body like two times. But...he was kind, nice and most of all a good friend.”

“Fun?” He sort of missed his ears. And the overwhelming boost to his magic but he was learning to live without again. With Asta gone for a while he couldn’t force the shorter teen to deal with this in his place. “It depends on the person– why do you have so many cats?”

 “Why don’t you? Their good judges of character, and you can tell someone by the animals he surrounds himself with.” humans work as a synonym as well, in any case. It was something he didn’t really have to say but it was implied via subtext that only elves could understand. 

 “Do you want to pet one?”

 “What do you humans even do for fun when your not on missions.” with the devil magic user gone into some heart kingdom, Vetto had a lot of spare time after that. Fana is somewhere else and the disloyal is also out there making amends with humans. It was him with no one to apologize for since he did die , that should make up for it. With a clearer head he’s much better at thinking now, a cat in his arms. or two...or three...or four....

This was unexpected. He hadn’t been told there was someone with this powerful of mana in the area. It was supposed to be all small fry. It was why he was dispatched on his own. Still, this was something he could handle. 

A flick of the wrist had his grimoire opened and the wind catching the debris, protecting those in the area until they could get away and it was just the two of them. 

“Do not be mistaken. I’m not Royal.” Far from it. He was a commoner. An orphan. The lowest of the low but he could stand toe to toe with the royals. 

“But that doesn’t mean I won’t stop you.”

 “You work with their colors on. Its good enough.” what was it, blame the sin but not the sinners? Its been so long but to Vetto, it feels likes yesterday that there was happiness. It would have been better if he didn’t wake from his journey, one more time. 

 “I see that your strong, your despair will taste better once I rip you apart-

And that is when a giant monster, most likely from the dungeons , a giant golem made from indescribable steel, appears from below. He takes the short way, using the legs of the kangaroo to jump out of the way.

Hm. What powerful mana, but not even half of what Vetto has. Still, there was something odd about this boy... 

He kicks through the walls and utterly destroys them for starters. His large built easily seeable as he enters the area, utterly unconcern for the other small time mages within the area. 

 “Well, another royal mage to drive into the ground!” enter stage right, Vetto. Wether this turns into a fight is up to anyone guess... But still he hasn’t drawn his grimoure yet so thats a plus. 

but think of the merits of capturing someone like him? Alive.
