Logging off protest.

As a lot of you know, tomorrow tumblr’s new tos comes into effect. Already, many people have been affected by their censorship plans. And a lot of people are logging off tonight in protest.

To be clear here... while I don’t agree with their methods to fix the issues they are having on the site, and I definitely believe they are taking the lazy way out-- At the end of the day, this is still their platform and their choice. However, I do not think they should get a free pass to hurt people, and choosing the date they did was a terrible thing to do. I cannot support a platform that would hurt and oppress any group of people, especially a group of people who have suffered and continue to suffer daily. Choosing to enact their plans on the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers, when they are taking another safe space away from this group of people already just by doing this, is just wrong. It’s a slap in the face, and I can’t support that.

I’m not sure when I’ll be logging back in to tumblr. I have been on this site for years now, daily, and have enjoyed it greatly. But the way this whole thing has been handled has been lazy, unprofessional, and just wrong. If anyone wants to contact me, I do have a couple of different sites I visit on a pretty consistent basis (and will be frequenting more now, since I won’t be using tumblr for at least a while)

Yes, I agree with the decision to remove downright illegal content such as CP, and ban anyone who uploads it, but that's not the only thing that is happening which is why everyone is upset. The problem is that Tumblr is also flagging a ton of posts that are not explicit. Yes, they are within their right to moderate their platform however they choose, but at this rate, almost anything and everything is being flagged as explicit. Even their own announcement was flagged as such.

yes because they use a specific algorithm and these will of course make mistakes. A human is able to tell that he made a mistake but computers dont (at least not the one tumblr uses). Thats why they send you an email so you can check the content that was flagged. If you review it a real human will check it again.

Its annoying but its better than Tumblr deleting all of it at once. Bc looking at the TOS and Guideline Policy they have the right to do so.

I'm not reblogging this to contradict you or anything xnatiix, just informing people who might read your post. They arent emailing everyone. So check your posts. My email is up to date and I didnt get a notification one of my posts were flagged-- a friend told me. And she wasn't emailed about two of hers that were flagged either. And this isn't isolated, ive seen several people complain about not being emailed. They aren't bothering to email people-- or are at least skipping some-- and I dont know whether thats by mistake or design. If by design its pretty crappy, if by mistake obviously this system was far from ready to go up. They certainly do have the right to do with their platform what they wish, whether it survives or not is their problem and not mine in the end. But frankly it was just irresponsible not to prepare for it better. As a note for my friends/followers I also have some personal problems with the specific date they chose to enact it (December 17th) but thats a whole other thing to unload.

Déjà Vu - the experience of being certain that you have experienced or seen a new situation previously – you feel as though the event has already happened or is repeating itself. The experience is usually accompanied by a strong sense of familiarity and a sense of eeriness, strangeness, or weirdness. The “previous” experience is usually attributed to a dream, but sometimes there is a firm sense that it has truly occurred in the past.

Déjà Vécu - is what most people are experiencing when they think they are experiencing deja vu. Déjà vu is the sense of having seen something before, whereas déjà vécu is the experience of having seen an event before, but in great detail – such as recognizing smells and sounds. This is also usually accompanied by a very strong feeling of knowing what is going to come next.

Déjà Visité -  a less common experience and it involves an uncanny knowledge of a new place. For example, you may know your way around a a new town or a landscape despite having never been there, and knowing that it is impossible for you to have this knowledge. Déjà visité is about spatial and geographical relationships, while déjà vécu is about temporal occurrences. Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote about an experience of this in his book “Our Old Home” in which he visited a ruined castle and had a full knowledge of its layout. He was later able to trace the experience to a poem he had read many years early by Alexander Pope in which the castle was accurately described.

Déjà Senti - Déjà senti is the phenomenon of having “already felt” something. This is exclusively a mental phenomenon and seldom remains in your memory afterwards. In the words of a person having experienced it: “What is occupying the attention is what has occupied it before, and indeed has been familiar, but has been forgotten for a time, and now is recovered with a slight sense of satisfaction as if it had been sought for. The recollection is always started by another person’s voice, or by my own verbalized thought, or by what I am reading and mentally verbalize; and I think that during the abnormal state I generally verbalize some such phrase of simple recognition as ‘Oh yes—I see’, ‘Of course—I remember’, etc., but a minute or two later I can recollect neither the words nor the verbalized thought which gave rise to the recollection. I only find strongly that they resemble what I have felt before under similar abnormal conditions.”

Jamais Vu - Jamais vu (never seen) describes a familiar situation which is not recognized. It is often considered to be the opposite of déjà vu and it involves a sense of eeriness. The observer does not recognize the situation despite knowing rationally that they have been there before. It is commonly explained as when a person momentarily doesn’t recognize a person, word, or place that they know. Chris Moulin, of Leeds University, asked 92 volunteers to write out “door” 30 times in 60 seconds. He reported that 68 per cent of his guinea pigs showed symptoms of jamais vu, such as beginning to doubt that “door” was a real word. This has lead him to believe that jamais vu may be a symptom of brain fatigue.

Presque Vu - Presque vu is very similar to the “tip of the tongue” sensation – it is the strong feeling that you are about to experience an epiphany – though the epiphany seldom comes. The term “presque vu” means “almost seen”. The sensation of presque vu can be very disorienting and distracting.

Hello! Overwatch/Voltron nerd here ready to break it down.

Keith is playing as genji. See the genji lookin dragon blade logo on the shirt and the squiggles on the screen? Hes using his ultimate and when you do that a genji you weild a sword and the screen gets really intense.

Lance is playing as widowmaker. His shirt is her logo and her default reticle is whats on the screen (although every serious widow player i know uses the dot one instead heh heh. Whatever you want lance.)

Shiro is playing brig. I dont know whats on his shirt but the give away is the screen. The screen in game looks just like that when you play brig with her shield up with the smaller body and shield.

Allura was the hardest one. I was going back and forth between moira and mercy before deciding its definitely mercys healing staff and not moiras death ball being thrown.

Pidge is obviously playing d.va.

Hunk is playing Reinhardt. Hes wearing a shirt with his logo and you can see hes swinging his hammer on screen. And “shatter blade” is hunk asking if him and keith want to combo their ultimates.

Kudos to the artist. This is really well thought out. Hunks tankiness tendencies to take big hits and not get knocked down is a lot like rein. Shiro fights in your face with his arm flailing damage at you like brig and her flail. Keith with the sword weeb. Lance with the sniper. Allura with the pacifist and patient healer (something i can see her aspiring to be). And pidge as the gamer grimlin.

Honestly i just think its a miracle they make a balanced team with two dps, healers, and tanks and a decent one with the characters they chose. All my friends play dps. Always. Comp is a nightmare. Hopefully theyll have better luck than i do.
