I love it when you can pick up an animator’s quirks.

I’ve read in old interviews with Milt Khal’s fellow animators that he did the swaggle to purposefully show off. Moving the head in 3-d space is an exceptionally hard thing to do but Khal upped the level of difficulty to a place many animators wouldn’t go. Not only are they all doing the swaggle you’ll notice they are all TALKING while they are doing it. This is back in the days where you had to use a timing sheet to pace your animation and a head swaggle doesn’t work if its too slow or too fast so he had to figure out the right speed so it looked natural while the character finishes what they have to say while not interfering with the distinct mouth shapes. Not only did Khal do it without any shifting weight problems or timing issues he would often do it while moving the rest of the body. This isn’t his signature move just because he was good at it.This is his signature move because he was one of the only people skilled enough to DO IT AT ALL.

Milt Khal was a MASTER.

(Major IW spoilers.) The Collector in Infinity War and where is he now?

Everyone seems so quick to assume that The Collector is dead and it’s easy to see why, his collection was left in ruins….again. But to me at least I think he is still alive. For starters

His official status is labeled as unknown which means we don’t actually know what happened to him and considering what happened to a majority of the characters in this movie, if they wanted him dead, they would’ve said “He’s dead.” The Tivan we see is just a result of the Reality stone, so that wasn’t the real Tivan but the scenario we see with him could be what actually went down (unless Thanos is good at making stuff up on the spot) however another important thing to note is during that scene when the Guardians arrive, he picks up the Collector and he simply throws him into one of his cages instead of killing him on the spot, of course with the real Collector he wasn’t so lucky to have the Guardians come and stop him in time but at the same time Thanos didnt kill him when they did show up so who’s to say he didn’t kill the real one, especially if he was re enacting everything. Afterwards we see that his collection is actually on fire and everything is destroyed, however you know what we don’t see? The real Tivan, we could’ve seen his dead body on the floor or some sign that he isn’t alive, of course we could assume by the destruction that he’s dead but like I said before in this movie if they want characters dead, they’ll be dead. It’s also interesting that the last thing the fake Tivan does is wave goodbye at the guardians with a big smile on his face, which considering that the Collector always looks calm even when he’s excited about something and for him to just be smiling as he fades away may also be signifcant. Why is he smiling? His stuff is gone, his building is destroyed, his stone was taken from him. why is he waving? Is it because the real Tivan is dead? Is it because the real one ran off, or is Thanos just messing with them? Thanos could’ve also mentioned how he killed Tivan or made some comment about it (especially since he kept continuously insulting him) but he said nothing about it not even a hint. Another good point to make is, When was the last time we saw The Collector? Guardians of the Galaxy, and in Guardians his collection was destroyed and at the end we see him simply sitting and drinking among the carnage but why would he stay in that building when it was already destroyed? In the comics (which I know is vastly different from the movies) he has multiple buildings for his collection, (as well as the one in Disneyland) it could be possible that The Collector fled to another one of his buildings and left the stone behind but that doesn’t seem like him, he was tasked by the Asgardians to keep the stone safe and considering how he lied to Thanos by saying he sold it but we see how Thanos got the stone anyways, shows that The Collector kept his word. Now another thing that may not have anything to do with this but could still be a possibility is The Grandmaster. Now the Grandmaster is the second Elder we are introduced to, and it’s interesting that they chose the Grandmaster to introduce next as the Grandmaster is the one Elder that Tivan is closest to as they call each other “Brother” despite not being actual brothers. In the comics The Grandmaster as soon as he hears that Tivan is dead, goes out and gives up his own life to bring him back and since we have Grandmaster in the MCU there could be something that happens like that in the second part of Infinity War and considering that A, Tivan’s status is unknown so they can do what they want with him and B, People already want Tivan and The Grandmaster to team up and there has been some talk about them being seen together. The next Avengers is perfect for the two to team up. That’s why I think Tivan is still alive.
