End Game: Why Replay

So you could most likely beat the game in like 20 minutes. it would be a pretty boring game if that was it, so I added a system to give you a reason to replay.

Now when you beat the boss if you click Repeat the game will become more challenging. This will keep adding on until you cant does it anymore.

Now, all that is left for this game is some cleanup and bug fixes and ill open the game up to play.

It's really cooll because the asteroids will spawn in front of the buttons and text sometimes.

okay, so tonight I added money drops from the ships you fight so that you can afford better ships yourself. I'm working on fixing the physics of the shooting as it is really weird right now. don't know how it happened but it all just broke. Time to fix all the random stuff that breaks.

Bug Report So Far.

Bugs Fixed:

Fixed a big with the shop giving you an item when buying a ship. 

Fixed a bug with the guided missiles.

Fixed stats on options menu to display properly. 

Additions:

You can now seee how much moneyy you have in the options/stats view screen.

There is now a musicc controller on the options menu so you can go to next song or previous

Game Update. On The Bug Hunt

So at this point, I am done with adding stuff to the game. what I'm doing right now is going through the game connecting everything together and fixing all the bugs in the game. there are so manyyy bugs. The game is like 95 percent done. 

Yesterday I fixed a bug regarding items in your inventory not transferring to your new ship when you buy a new ship. that alone took a couple days and like 50 lines of code. 

It'll be a slow grind but I will be done before school lets out in 8ish weeks. 

I'll post any major bugs here along with some gameplay as they come up.

So Ai is not as dumb anymore

Now the bad ships will sorta hover around your ship shooting at you. they will follow and move around. They feel definitely more lifelike then just rushing you

Long Time No See Update

I'm working on two of the last couple things to be added to the game.

1. no more derpy ai. seriously. they currently just ram into you and shoot. very annoying. Now they will hold a set distance to you and shoot you from there. I may add in rammers...

2., more importantly, loot drops. Now when you kill a ship there is a chance for an item dropping along with some currency to buy another ship with.

Sorry, there are no gifs of them in action. they are filled with bugs so I'm going to smooth those out before posting some pictures and gifs.

The items work for the most part

The effects of the items are added when they are on your ship. I also added three new sounds to the game

1. Item pickup

2. Inventory open and close

3. Item equip/de-equip

Also, my goal is to finish the game before school lets out. so like 10ish weeks. hopefully...

That feeling when you spend hours debugging only to realize that the whole time the only flipping problem was a backward assignment. fml.

Update on Items

This is going to be a very big post regarding the basic items I'm going to be adding to the game. so please read to the end

note that anything I say here could change, nothing is final. 

let us get this started. 

oh boy

1. Armor Panels (1-3)

Having these equipped will buff the health of your ship. The green ones will be better than grey and blue will be better than them all. These will make your ship slower if you get really good armor. but hey who needs speed when you have the health of a god. 

2. Gun Upgrades. (1-5)

 The gun upgrades will mainly buff your damage and buff your fire rate and ability damage a little bit. These will be your best friends if you want to build ships that are glass cannons. 

3. Engine Upgrades

The engines can boost stats like top speed, acceleration, brake time, etc. These will be best paired with glass cannons but can help tanky ships. You can fly cycles around the bad ships. 

4. Technology Slot

Belt Fed 

is a hugeeeeee increase in fire rate but will severely reduce your damage per shot. Knowing this, If your someone like me who loves to build the-laser-beams-of-death builds by stacking as much damage and fire rate as possible then this will be your item. 

Improved Barrel

This upgrade will reduce fire rate but substantially increase the dps of a ship. for the people who like to run around one-shooting everything, this is perfect.

I'm working on items now. I've been a little burnt out but I'm getting back into it.

There's only a couple bosses in Smashed Space...

only like a hundred unique ships. haha that's nothing...

Love it when the code for my game works one day and after I fix some bug completely unrelated to it in another script it decides that it is finally it’s turns to completely break.

The boss now has miney boys.

when they explode they will shake the screen and it looks pretty cool. I'm adding sound to them soon. in addition, if you hit them they will do a huge chunk of damage to you. 

(but you can shoot them to destroy them)
