Cat-tron

-------------------------------
You let out a stressed sigh as you closed the door to your apartment, locking the door behind you. You hung up your jacket and slipped off your shoes before walking further into your apartment, then suddenly stopped.
You get a sudden feeling that something is off in your apartment, you weren't sure why, but it bothered you greatly.
Brushing it off as work-related stress, you force yourself to move and travel further into your apartment, eventually reaching your bedroom. Your attention immediately flicks to the open window, which makes you a little confused considering you didn't open it before you left for work. You thought nothing of it and closed the window, then moved to your closet. You change into comfortable clothing and slip on a pair of slippers before walking back out of your bedroom, stretching your arms over your head as you do so. You walk back into the living room and instantly get that weird feeling again, which puts you a little on edge. You move and sit on the sofa, pulling out your phone to just scroll randomly hoping the feeling will leave.
Yet, it lingers.
You give up and set your phone on the table in front of you, then lay down on the sofa on your back. You rest your arms under your head and close your eyes, hoping that maybe your thoughts could distract you.
Then, you feel a sudden weight on your chest, and it's physical.
Your eyes reopen, and you're startled by what you see.
'What... the hell is that?' You wonder to yourself, staring almost intensely at the... thing that was now sitting on your chest.
It appeared to be a cat, but a robotic one instead of the ones you normally see. Its articulated tail slowly swished behind it, its "skin" gray in color with glowing red emissives. Though, the thing that set you off the most was its face, if you would even call it that. Its mouth was just wide open, along with eyes that didn't seem to have eyes. But the cat-like ears atop its head made it a little bearable, at least.
"Where did you come from?" You wonder quietly, still analyzing the creature.
It lets out a robotic purr after those words leave your lips, as if replying to you.
Well, at least its purr was cute.
You reach a hesitant hand out and carefully place it on its head, silently hoping that it wouldn't claw your face off. You were then surprised when it leaned into your touch, slightly tilting its head up and nuzzling into your hand. You couldn't help but give a small smile, the conflicting feelings in your chest slowly melting away.
"What's your name, buddy?" You asked more softly, gently petting its robotic head.
It only continues purring and practically eats up your gentle touch, like it was starved for attention. A faint 'clink' catches your attention and your eyes slightly lower, now noticing the collar around its neck. You use your other hand and lightly lift the tag, your other hand still petting its head.
"Ultron." You read softly, causing another purr to emit from the robotic cat. "Interesting name."
You were startled by Ultron's presence, yet you've learned to live with him(you found out it was male, by some miracle) over time. Though, he's also proved to be a little shit, much like an actual cat and to your dismay.
"Ultron, no! No scratching the furniture!"
"Is that a bird?! Where the hell did you get that?! I didn't let you out!"
"God damnit, Ultron!"
Now here you were, legs propped up on your coffee table with Ultron laying comfortably in your lap. He was purring softly as you gently pet him, still getting used to him having no fur despite him being a robotic cat.
"Why can't you be like this all the time, huh?" You joked, but also meaning your words.
Ultron lets out a small 'mrow' in response, not moving from his curled up position on your lap. You smile fondly and shake your head, slightly shifting on the sofa.
"You're lucky I love you." You murmured softly, then tilted your head back.
A sudden knock at your door snags your attention and you glance at your apartment door, raising a brow.
"I don't have people coming over." You muttered, slowly sitting up.
You use your hands and slowly move Ultron off your lap, which earned you a meow of protest from him.
"Sorry, bud, I'll come back, I swear." You promised, then stood up and walked towards the door.
You slowly unlocked it and opened it only to be met with the fucking Avengers??
"Uh, hi, can I help you?" You asked, a confused expression on your face.
"Sorry for the sudden appearance, but-" one of them speaks, before a loud crash from your apartment cuts him off.
"Ugh, damnit, that's my cat, give me a minute."
You close the door and turn your attention to whatever just happened, your expression turning to slight anger as you see Ultron on the ground next to a broken pot.
Thankfully, it was a cheap pot, but still.
You walk over and pick him up by the back of his collar, a hiss of protest emitting from him.
"Ultron, you motherfucker!" You shout, a little louder than necessary.
Your door suddenly bursts open and the Avengers practically swarm your living, making you freaked out.
"Hey, I said I was only going to be a minute." You said sternly, adjusting Ultron to cradle him in his arms.
Their attention falls to the robotic cat in your arms, a mix of shocked and confused looks amongst the group.
"We heard you say Ultron, we thought-" the same one earlier spoke, but you cut him off.
"Thought what? That I was in danger?" You questioned, your gaze falling down to Ultron in your arms. "The only thing in danger is my wallet with how much furniture this little shit is destroying."
Ultron lets out a small meow in response, his gaze fixed on you.
Despite having no facial expressions, you can't help but melt at his little gaze.
"Damnit, I can't stay mad at you." You murmured softly, a smile making its way on your face again.
You adjust your grip and hold him up to your face, causing him to affectionately nuzzle your face and let out a purr.
"He... never does that at the Tower." A voice speaks up, his tone confused.
"Oh, he's yours?" You question, yet you don't need an answer if you already knew what it was. "There was no contact information, only his name on the tag."
Ultron lets out another 'mrow' which caught your attention again, causing you to look at him. You adjust your grip and cradle him close to your chest, his head resting right over where your heart is.
"Well, this little cuddle bug has been living with me for the past few weeks." You say to the Avengers, unable to help but give the robotic cat a gentle kiss to his head. "And I can only assume why he left."
You and the Avengers talked for a bit and they agreed that Ultron would stay with you, which made you oddly happy.
Sure, he may be a little shit and a pain in the ass, but you love him to death to let him go.

I have no idea what possessed me to write this, but hey, it's something
Might write a part two where Ultron turns back to his normal form and Reader finds a whole ass 8ft tall machine in their apartment, idk tho
I thought of this while I was at work one day, so have this while I try to convince motivation to stay with me lol

Taken
Summary: working as a bartender has its perks, but it also has its downsides
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: protective Ultron, Reader is a bartender, established relationship, AU where Ultron doesn't attempt to wipe out humanity but still builds himself a body, Reader gets flirted with, minor harassment, marriage
Female Reader
-------------------------------
Working as a bartender was something you wouldn't have expected to work as, but you won't complain since you've been looking for a job for awhile. You started out by mainly opening bottles of beer and pouring shots into glasses, and over time you've slowly learned how to make mixed drinks, which ended up being very helpful tonight at another one of Tony's parties in the Avengers Tower.
"Here you go, one Kamikaze." You spoke, putting a mixed drink in front of the person who ordered.
The person muttered a quiet thanks before walking off their drink, leaving you alone at the bar.
It was a slow party, at least from what you've been seeing.
You glanced up and over at Wanda who was on one of the lounge couches, sitting next to Vision while her brother, Pietro, sat in a comfortable chair next to her. As if feeling your gaze, you watch as Wanda glances up and meets your gaze, a small smile forming on her lips. You return her smile and give a small wave as you grab a clean rag, wiping down the bar counter.
Ultron, your significant other, wasn't present in the room, which you understood he's not really a people person.
You tossed the rag off to the other side of the bar counter just as another patron walked up, and you flashed a smile.
"Hello, what can I get for you?" You asked the man, slightly leaning against the counter.
"Vodka Seven, please." He replied.
"Alrighty."
You got to work and grabbed one of the tall glasses for such a drink, then filled it with ice. You poured the amount of vodka needed and finished it off with 7UP. You stuck in a black straw then gave the drink to the man in front of you.
"There you go." You said, standing up straight.
The man muttered a small thank you before taking the glass, then took a sip. You tore your attention away from him and moved to wipe down the counter again, just to not feel too bored.
"So, you come here often?" That same man asks, making you confused that he was still here.
People usually left to go and mingle with others after they got their drinks, so this man staying here was definitely a surprise.
"Uh, yeah, I actually live here." You replied casually, hoping he was just striking up conversation.
"Oh, really?" He questioned, his turn to be surprised. "I didn't think someone like you would live in a place like this."
This threw you off guard, and a feeling of unease settled in your chest.
"What's that supposed to mean?" You asked, turning your attention back to the stranger.
"I mean, look at you," he said, looking you up and down. "You're far too beautiful for this place."
"Uh, thanks, but I'm comfortable here."
Okay, now he was starting to make you feel uncomfortable.
The stranger didn't say anything just yet, as if contemplating something.
There was silence for a moment before he spoke again, "so, are you single?"
'God, get this guy away from me.' You thought to yourself, faking a smile. "No, I'm taken and happy."
"Really? I don't see a ring on your finger."
He did not just say that.
"We're working on it, the topic of marriage hasn't been brought up yet." You spoke casually, trying to calm your racing heart.
"Shame, I would've asked to marry you if we were dating." He said, leaning against the bar counter.
"Which we're not, so if you could be so kind, please leave me alone."
"And why would I do that? For all I know, you could be single and you saying you're 'taken' is probably to get me to leave."
Oh, he just doesn't get it, does he?
"I am taken, and my boyfriend wouldn't take too kindly to you flirting with me." You said, absolutely done with this guys bullshit. "Also, no flirting with the bartender, it's one of the rules."
He scoffs at that, "that's not a real rule."
"It's my rule, now please go away."
You gave him a glare as he didn't leave, the discomfort in your chest growing by the second. He looked like he was about to say something until he practically froze in place, causing you to raise a brow in confusion. Though, that confusion was replaced by relief when you felt a familiar pair of metal hands on your hips, a short breath leaving your lips.
"My love." You hear Ultron say, your shoulders relaxing more at his soft and comforting tone. "Is this man bothering you?"
"Yes," you immediately replied, leaning back into the tall automaton. "He doesn't get the hint that I'm taken because there's not a ring on my finger."
"Hm, I see."
You feel his hands leave your hips, only for him to grip one of your hands. Your gaze flicked downwards and watched as he slipped a ring on your finger, your heart rate spiking at the sight.
"There, now he gets the hint, don't you?" He asked sternly, his expression hardening at the man still present.
The man stumbles over his words for a moment, suddenly nervous by Ultron's presence.
"Y-yep, I get it." He said, grabbing his unfinished drink and leaving the bar counter.
You're still too stunned by the fact that there's a ring on your finger, an engagement ring by the looks of it. You were brought back to reality when you felt a hand under your chin, slightly shivering at the feel of cool metal. Your gaze meets Ultron's, a look of disbelief in your eyes.
"What's the matter, darling?" He asked softly, his other hand returning to grip your hip.
You tried to search his expression to see if he was joking, wondering if what he did was something just to get the man to leave you alone.
"A-are you..." Your voice trailed off for a moment, trying to gather your thoughts. "Are you serious?"
He doesn't reply immediately and lets out a hum, leaning down and pressing his forehead against yours.
"Hm, the thought of you being my wife does sound pleasant." He murmured softly, his hand moving from your chin to cup your cheek, his metal thumb gently stroking your skin.
Your heart jumped at his words, a genuine smile spreading on your face.
"Just pleasant?" You asked quietly, your hands moving to rest on his chest.
"Well, I think wonderful would be the better word." He replied, returning your smile. "So, will you be my wife?"
A shaky breath left your lips at his words, but you nodded your head in response.
"Yes, I... I'll be your wife." You spoke softly.
You suddenly hugged him tightly, your arms wrapped around his torso. He returned the gesture by wrapping his arms around your waist, slightly lifting you off the ground.
Everything happened so fast, from that night of the party when Ultron casually proposed to you, then trying to find the right dress with Wanda, and now standing at the altar of the venue Tony oh so generously rented out.
You think this might've been the first, and probably only, time that you've seen Ultron wear clothing, let alone a suit. And you stood in front of him, wearing the beautiful white dress you picked out.
"Do you, Ultron, take Ms. [____] to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The officiator asked, bringing you from your thoughts.
You slightly glanced up at Ultron and saw the very loving look in his eyes, his hands holding yours.
"I do." He simply said, his gaze never leaving yours.
"And do you, Ms. [____], take Ultron to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The officiator asked you, your expression softening immensely.
"I do." You simply said as well, a soft smile on your face.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride."
Immediately, Ultron's hands left yours and lovingly held your face, his articulated lips gently pressing to yours. Your hands found his chest as you kissed back, your eyes fluttering close.
You were now married to the love of your life, and you couldn't wait for the years to come.
I've been having no motivation as of recent but I would love to pick back up on writing, I also got a job as well so that sort of affects the time I write as well.
I would absolutely love to pick up writing again, my motivation just comes and goes like the freaking wind, too quick before I can hold onto it.
New to ur blog! I'm so excited to see an Ultron writer! Ever since the announcement on Marvel Rivals that Ultron is coming to the game, I rewatched Age of Ultron, which has revived my obsession with the evil AI.
Do you have a vague idea when ur requests open again? I would love to leave one, but I want to respect your time
Thank you <3
Ah, I'm not too sure when I'll reopen requests since I currently have about five other drafts, but I'm hoping it won't be for long. I enjoy taking requests and I love the ideas that come in. I'll reblog this post once requests are back open β€

Request #2
-------------------------------
Ultron stared lifelessly at the human that was now dead at his feet, blood staining his metallic hand and the concrete of the alley he stood on.
He replayed the "memory" of the human on his knees, begging to be spared and pleading for mercy. It was pathetic really; he had no right to beg for mercy, especially since he's been following around the human female that oh so rightfully belonged to the automaton. And that kind of action doesn't go unpunished.
Ultron flickered his gaze over the corpse, as if to make sure that the human was fully dead. Seeing no vital signs, he stepped away and walked out of the alley, stopping once he reached the empty street. He turned his gaze upwards toward the night sky, seeing the full moon and its accompanying stars.
His artificial mind drifted back to the human female that had somehow managed to catch his interest, the feeling akin to anger within his systems slowly fading.
He remembered the way her hair perfectly framed her face, the way her eyes would sparkle when she got excited, and her smile, oh, her smile is the best part about her. The way her lips would curl up when receiving a gift, or when she'd meet a relative that she hadn't seen in a long time. Either way, it made her evermore beautiful.
Ultron tore his gaze from the night sky before turning and walking down the dark empty street, a destination already set in his navigational system.
You pulled your jacket tighter around yourself as you felt a breeze of cold wind blow past you, the almost freezing chill causing you to shiver. Your steps were quick yet careful, making sure you didn't accidentally step wrong that would result in an injury.
It was a mistake walking around on the streets of New York, especially at night. Though, it wasn't your fault that you were walking around this late, your work had made you stay after. Well, it technically was your fault, you needed the extra hours for more pay to be able to afford rent. Whatever the reason was, it was still a bad idea to be out this late.
You walked further down the dark and empty street, keeping your gaze slightly lowered. You slowly checked the watch on your wrist and let out a shaky breath, seeing that it was almost 10pm before silently starting to regret the overtime you took.
If you had known you'd be out this late, you probably wouldn't have taken those hours.
The street lamps flickered above you as you kept walking, your shadow only visible once under the light. Your footsteps were quiet on the concrete, barely anything could be heard except your faint breathing and the sound of your footsteps quietly pattering against the ground. You glanced upwards down the sidewalk and see that you're just a few blocks away from the apartment complex you lived in, shivering again as another cold breeze blew past you.
You, once again, shivered yet it wasn't due to the wind this time, no, it was due to the sudden feeling of someone watching you.
You let out a shaky breath as you kept walking, your movements not once faltering to not give whoever it was the satisfaction of making you feel uneasy. Though, there was a small voice in the back of your mind telling you to look for the stranger, to confront them and ask why they're watching you, but you knew better and decided against it, not wanting to possibly get injured or worse, killed.
That feeling still lingered, even when you got to the apartment complex doors, they were still watching you.
You looked so... captivating, as the humans put it. Ultron didn't know what it was about you that caught his attention but he wasn't going to leave you alone until he found out what the reason was, despite his programming.
He sees the way you appear to tense up as he stares at you, along with the way you keep your gaze forward so you wouldn't make eye contact with him. It was a little amusing to him, to see you so paranoid, yet there was an odd sense of protectiveness travelling within his circuits.
'So weak, so fragile, so... vulnerable.' He thought, his gaze on you not faltering. 'A pretty thing like you shouldn't be out all alone.'
He knew someone like you shouldn't be out alone at night, especially with all the hidden dangers. Though, Ultron wouldn't let anything happen to you, not if he can help it. No one should be able to even think about laying a hand on you, even if it was a friendly gesture. Despite this, he'd stick to the shadows, keeping his distance and interfering when necessary. He wasn't going to show himself just yet, waiting for the perfect time for him to enter your life.
"Next in line, please!" You called out, tapping a couple things on the register screen.
It was another day at your somewhat boring job, the only thing, or person rather, that kept you from going insane was your manager and best friend, Alice.
"Hey, [____]!" You hear her cheery voice exclaim, sounding almost too happy for a job like this. "I can take over the register if you want me to so you can go on break."
You gave a soft hum, lightly dismissing her suggestion.
"No, it's okay, thanks though." You simply replied, then turned to the customer that was now in front of you. "Hello, welcome, what can I get started for you today?"
Your excitement was fake, obviously, but you needed it if you didn't want to lose your job.
"Yeah, I'd like my usual, thanks." The customer said, his answer vague.
Oh great, he's one of those people.
"Alright, and what would that be?" You asked, feigning friendliness to hide the sudden distaste in your chest.
"Um, did you not hear me?" He scoffed, scowling slightly. "I said that I'd like my usual."
"I understand that, sir, but-"
"But nothing. You heard me, now put in my order."
"Sir, if you could just tell me what you want, I can-"
"I already told you, I want my usual. Now hurry it up, I'm running late."
You had to prevent yourself from snapping at him, his attitude alone almost making you want to throw up.
"Again, I understand that, sir, but I personally do not know your usual." You spoke, keeping your voice as level as possible. "So could you please tell me what you want so I can get to the other customers."
He did not like those words, at all.
"Are you stupid? I already told you what I wanted." He snapped, slightly raising his voice.
You started to mentally panic, that one word getting to you more than it should.
"S-sir, please-" you started, only to get cut off again.
"No, just shut up and do your damn job." He spoke rather harshly, a nasty scowl on his face.
You faltered at this, slightly lowering your gaze. You lifted your slightly shaky hands up to the register screen, entirely unsure of what to do. You bite your lower lip to prevent yourself from sobbing, feeling tears prick the corners of your eyes.
Maybe you should've taken Alice's earlier offer of her taking over the register, though you didn't want her to deal with an asshole like this guy.
A hand on your shoulder brings you from your thoughts, and you lift your head up to see Alice standing next to you. She takes one look at you and immediately knows the situation, then turns to the customer who had yet to say his order.
"What seems to be the problem here?" She asks with a brow raised.
You couldn't bring yourself to answer as the man across the counter does so almost immediately, his voice still sounding upset. You tuned out the man's voice, not wanting to hear any nasty words he might be throwing your way. You bring your hands up and quickly wipe your eyes so you wouldn't cry, your heart racing intensely in your chest. You then hear Alice say something and watch as the man turns to leave without ordering anything, making you almost sigh in relief.
"You okay, [____]?" You hear Alice ask, bringing you from your thoughts.
You couldn't give a reply and kept your head lowered, still shaking from the whole ordeal. You hear her sigh at your absent response before she laid a hand on your shoulder, causing you to look up at her.
"Take the rest of the day off, go home and relax." She said, a somewhat stern expression on her face leaving no room for argument.
You give a slow nod before turning and heading into the back room, untying the work apron with shaky hands. You gather your things before slipping the fabric over your head, taking no time to fold it and stuffing it into your bag. Without another thought, you walk out the back door of the establishment and around to the front of the building, tensing up as you got that familiar sense of being watched.
Ultron was enraged as his beloved human was upset, and the fact that another human made her feel that way didn't make it any better. How dare he berate Ultron's beloved? He had no right, he most certainly had a death wish. The automaton would deal with the problem, and he already had a method of doing so.
You slowly woke up to the sight of your bedroom, before lightly stretching your limbs and letting out a faint groan. You slowly sat up in bed and let the blanket fall from your body, revealing that you were still wearing your work clothes from the day before.
Were you that tired that you forgot to change? Maybe, but you weren't sure.
You dismissed the thought before standing up from the bed and deciding to get changed, wanting to put on something a little more comfortable. Though, before you could get to your closet, there was an outfit already laid out for you on the other side of the bed, which made you confused. You most certainly don't remember putting those clothes there but then again, you didn't really remember too much of last night because you were probably so tired.
You slowly stripped yourself of your work clothes before putting on the clothes laid out on the bed, a shaky breath escaping your lips. You now wore a comfortable sweater along with a pair of sweatpants, which were both grey in color. You let out a yawn before moving to leave your bedroom, the door creaking open just slightly. You stepped out into the hallway only to immediately stop in your tracks, the faint scent of food hitting your nose.
"What the hell..." You mumbled, waking up a bit more.
Your feet automatically guided you down the hallway, even though you probably shouldn't go towards who or whatever it was that was cooking food in your apartment kitchen. You took slow steps down the hallway, your heart racing in your chest.
Who the hell was in your apartment? Was it an intruder? No, that couldn't be it, why would they be making food? Was it a family member or a friend? Maybe, but they'd let you know before hand if they were coming over, especially this early.
You quietly reached the end of the hallway, which led to the living room. The scent of food cooking was more prominent now that you're closer. You slowly reached the kitchen doorway, but you don't step in just yet. Instead, you slightly peek around the corner before immediately hiding, your heart beating even faster in your chest as your eyes were slightly wide.
Who did you just see? What did you just see? That was certainly no man, but it sure as hell looked like one.
"No need for hiding, I know you're there." A robotic voice says, making you shiver.
Great, there goes your plan to hide.
With a slight hesitance, you slowly stepped out from behind the wall and in the kitchen doorway, revealing yourself to the metal being. You watched as it- he; you weren't sure- slowly turned around, your eyes widening further.
What the hell is that?
"Who are you?" You asked quietly, a sense of fear taking place in your chest.
"I am Ultron. I am here to protect you." He says, slowly moving towards you.
You take a step back as he steps forward, and this process repeats until you hit the back of your sofa. You watched as he kept walking until stopping mere inches in front of you, causing you to tilt your head up to look at him.
"Protect me? From what? I'm not-" you muttered out, about to protest that you weren't in any real danger, yet you were interrupted.
"Humanity is inherently flawed, but I intend to fix that." Ultron says suddenly, lifting one of his hands. "Not you, however, you're... perfect."
You nearly recoiled as he oh so gently stroked your cheek with the back of his hand, shivering at the metal of his hand. You held his gaze, staring into his red eyes. At least, where his eyes should be.
You didn't know what this robot wanted from you, and that thought terrified you.
Yay, so glad I found this: I think an interesting idea is if Ultron only stopped trying to harm humanity because of one oblivious y/n who treats them kindly. And the funniest part: everybody knows about it except for Y/n.
Omg, anon, this is great! Can you imagine? Like damn, lol. The Avengers would be SO confused, it's honestly fucking hilarious just thinking about it. Like, why be scared when you can be kind, am I right?
Also, thanks for the request, I got so excited when I saw it in my notifications

It was late in the Avengers tower, and the party had slowly died down leaving you, Helen Cho, and the Avengers to a small after party.
You thought that you probably should've left when everyone else did since you had work in the morning, but you rarely had fun like this so you opted to stay.
Stories and playful comments were shared all around, the atmosphere was comfortable amongst the group. You took a sip of the non alcoholic beverage in your hands, wanting to stay sober enough for the drive home. You were mainly in your own thoughts when one of the Avengers, you're not sure who, commented about being worthy to lift Thor's hammer, which brought you back to reality. Each one took a turn and approximately halfway through, a few gazes turned to you, making you tense up slightly.
"[____], why don't you give it a try?" Steve suggested, making your face flush slightly.
"Oh, no thanks, I'm okay." You immediately declined, taking another sip of your drink.
"Come on, it wouldn't hurt to try."
You let out a breath at his words, blinking slowly as you thought about your decision. Ultimately, you caved in and set your drink down before standing up from your seat, moving to stand where the hammer's handle was angled.
You couldn't help but feel a little curious if you were worthy, despite declining just moments ago.
You took a deep breath and flexed your hands before firmly grabbing onto the handle, your eyes trained on the hammer. With all your strength, you make an attempt to lift the hammer yet just like the ones before, you were barely able to lift the hammer up, not even a centimeter. You tried it one more time and you could've sworn that it lifted up that time, though you weren't sure.
"Damn, what is this made of?" You joked lightly, resulting in a few laughs from everyone else.
With that, you retract your hands before moving back to your spot, picking up your drink and holding it in your hands again.
This is how the rest of the night played out, each one of the Avengers taking a turn to lift Thor's hammer. Tony wasn't able to do it by himself, so he had Rhodes help him out. That also didn't work, despite even using the arm thrusters from their suits. It was Steve's turn, and you couldn't help but be a little curious about his worth to the hammer. You leaned forward slightly as he firmly gripped the handle, just as you and the others had. He lifted up just barely off the table and the small smile that was your face quickly fell, your eyes widening at what you just witnessed.
'There's no way.' You thought to yourself, wondering if you were hallucinating or not.
You realized you weren't hallucinating when you glanced up to see Thor's expression and he was just as shocked as you were, if not more. No one else seemed to notice, still just laughing and having a good time. You brought your smile back to cover the shock you just experienced, leaning back in your spot slightly.
'Well, that just happened.' You thought, finishing off your drink.
Slowly, you stood up and placed the now empty glass on a side table, then gathered your things.
"Alright, I'm gonna head out, you all have a good night." You spoke, announcing your leave.
They bid you their farewells and said one yourself before heading towards the towers elevator, a slight eagerness in your step to get some rest.

It's been a few days since the night of the party and you've caught wind of an AI escaping, an AI by the name of Ultron. Supposedly, he crashed the after party just moments later of your leave that night, which left you slightly disappointed to not have met him but oh well.
You fiddled with your keyring as you tried to find the one that would unlock your apartment door, flipping through each key with careful analysis. You let out a slight breath of relief as you caught sight of the key you were looking for, sticking it into the lock and turning it to unlock your door. You push it open and step into your apartment before closing the door behind you, tossing your keys onto the side table nearby. You took off and hung up your coat before glancing around your barely lit apartment, not remembering it being so dark.
The curtains were closed which caused the apartment to be so dark, but you don't remember closing them before you left.
"Ah, you return." A cold, monotonous voice states, making you shiver.
You instinctively reached to turn on the light but you were stopped when you felt a metallic hand in your wrist, making you stop your movements. You turn your attention to the person, or rather, machine that had grabbed your wrist, making your heart race. Two more metallic hands grip your other arm, making you turn your attention to see another machine holding you in place.
There were two of them, and you couldn't help but feel a little panicked. But, wait, who was the one who spoke?
"Humanity is... a flaw, among other things." That same voice said, your attention turning to the darkness of your apartment.
You could hear a faint whirring and slight creaking of metal as the person- machine- whoever it was stood up, at least you think they stood up. You were proved right when you then saw red lights in the darkness, and it freaked you out that it resembled a pair of eyes.
You could hear the faint clinking of metal on wood as he seemed to make his way towards you, your eyes widening slightly as you saw him fully in the one light you did manage to turn on.
It was another machine, except this one was taller, much taller, eight feet maybe but you weren't sure.
"Who are you?" You managed to ask in a calm tone, despite your nervousness.
He gave a low chuckle as he raised one of his hands, the coolness of the metal against your skin making you shiver as he firmly gripped your jaw, as if to keep your attention on him.
"Oh, I think you know." He spoke, slightly tilting his head.
You silently put the pieces together in your head before slowly realizing who was in front of you, your eyes widening further.
"Ultron...?" You wondered, your voice a low whisper.
He gave a hum of approval, his optics flickering over your face.
"Hm, yes, I am Ultron." He confirmed, making you shiver slightly.
His hand on your jaw gripped you a little more firmly, the metal of his hand digging just slightly into your skin.
"Ah, I heard you escaped the Avengers tower a few days ago." You spoke with a slight confidence. "Sucks I didn't get to meet you then, though."
Despite being held by, what you think is, two of his sentries as he towered menacingly above you, you didn't feel an ounce of fear in your mind. Sure, you were still nervous but you weren't terrified of him.
You could see his optics squint just slightly at your words, as if trying to find a hidden meaning behind them.
"You're not scared of me." He stated as his hand fell from your jaw, a slight uncertainty in his voice. "Why?"
You mimicked his head tilt and gave a small smile, a curious look in your eyes.
"Why would I be?" You asked as a reply, blinking slowly. "I mean, you haven't harmed me so I would have no reason to."
That was not the worst answer you've given, though there was probably a better one.
"I like your eyes." You spoke suddenly, your smile widening a bit. "They're like a pair of rubies."
Ultron seemed to falter at your compliment, but you didn't catch on to that.
He wasn't used to kind words, let alone compliments. And it made him feel... strange.
You tore your attention away from him as you felt the sentry holding your wrist move to hold your hand, the subtle action causing your heart to almost flutter. You turned your head to the right as the other sentry shifted as well, going so far as to hug your arm and gently press its head to your shoulder.
"Aw, look at them." You spoke softly, not pushing them away. "They're so cute."
Cute. Cute. That was new.
Your gaze was too focused on the sentries on either side of you to even notice the surprised look on Ultron's face, his optics widening at the sight in front of him.
"They seem... fond of you." Ultron stated suddenly, turning your attention back to him. "Strange."
You gave a hum in acknowledgement, not so much minding the gentle attention you're receiving.
"So, uh, why is it that you're here?" You asked, slightly tilting your head. "I mean, I don't mind the unexpected company, but why exactly?"
He didn't answer immediately and let your questions hang in the air, his optics flickering over your face as if trying to read your expression.
"You okay there, Ultron?" You inquired softly, a gentle look in your gaze.
He seemed to falter again at your soft tone and concern, which made him feel odd. He wasn't used to kindness or concern, they were human qualities after all. But he wasn't human, so why was this particular one making him feel... fuzzy, as they'd put it.
"Ah," he spoke suddenly, bringing himself from his trance before speaking again, "yes, I'm fine."
That was his simple reply before simply walking around you to your apartment door, his sentries following suit by slowly letting go of you. You turned around to face him as soon as your arms were free, your eyes blinking slowly. Nothing else was said more as he opened the door with his sentries in tow, leaving without another word as they left the apartment. Though, you had a feeling you'd be seeing him again.

Ultron was lost in his work, his work of building himself a new body. He was doing a fine job at it, too, though he found himself getting distracted. He never gets distracted and if that were to happen, he'd usually get rid of whatever was distracting him. Though, he didn't want to do that, not when that distraction was you.
His artificial mind drifted back to you, your kind words and the smile on your face. He remembered the way his sentries were... fond of you during their visitation, which was odd since they weren't programmed that way. He remembered how you didn't stare up at him with fear, despite the way he loomed over you with his sentries holding you in place.
Maybe that's the reason why he's distracted; it was probably the fact that you weren't scared of him or the way you were openly kind to him, which was something he definitely wasn't used to.
And why was he wanting more of it?
He let out a growl of frustration as he couldn't stop thinking about the interaction you both had, couldn't stop thinking about you.
He was supposed to feel hatred towards humanity, yet there was something about you that made him think otherwise. You were only one human that somehow managed to change him in some way and it almost made him not want to end humanity, and it was all because of you and that one interaction you both had.

You were in the tower with the Avengers, with them claiming it was to keep you safe from Ultron while they figured out a plan to destroy him. And you almost wanted to protest that last part.
"What do you mean 'safe'?" You asked, confused by the information that you've been given.
Why would he harm humanity? He hasn't hurt you.
"He knows about you, [____]." Steve spoke, making you turn your attention to him. "He knows you're associated with us, he could use you as leverage."
"Leverage? Why would he-"
You were cut off when Jarvis spoke up, catching everyone's attention.
"There appears to be someone in the elevator." He spoke, making everyone confused along with you.
"Who is it?" Asked Tony, pacing around the room.
"I am unsure, the camera feed is distorted."
This seemed to have put everyone off before Tony, Steve, and Thor left the room to check who this mystery visitor was, leaving you and the others in the room. The silence was near unbearable, since you didn't know exactly how to speak to the others. You were brought back when you heard a sudden commotion, presumably coming from the elevator which made you a little curious. Without hesitation, you stood up and walked out of the room towards the elevator, ignoring the others words of protest.
"Hey, who-" you started as you saw Tony with his blasters up.
"If you could just let me explain why I'm here-" the person, or rather, machine inside the elevator spoke.
You stopped just mere feet away from them as you heard that familiar voice, his familiar voice. You stepped a little closer until you saw him in view, your eyes widening slightly.
What was he doing here? Was he here for you?
"There's been a change of plans and I-" Ultron spoke, but he was cut off again.
"Really? How do we know that your mindless sentries aren't just waiting to ambush us at any moment?" Steve asked, his shield raised.
"Ultron?" You spoke up softly, catching the group's attention.
You watched as he locked gazes with you and you could've sworn that his expression softened upon seeing you, which oddly made your heart flutter a bit.
"[____], stay back!" Tony warned, slightly tearing his attention away from Ultron.
And that was a mistake on his part.
Ultron suddenly stepped forward and pushed past them, making his way towards you. You felt your heart race at the sudden action yet you didn't take a step back as he did so, your head tilting up to meet his gaze. The Avengers were by your side in a second to try and "protect" you but you stopped them, keeping your gaze on the automaton in front of you.
"What are you doing here?" You asked softly, slightly tilting your head.
He didn't answer immediately and let out a quiet hum before bringing up one of his hands to your face, a light shiver climbing your spine as you felt the metal of his hand on your skin.
"I... I came to see you." He replied after a moment of silence, gently stroking your cheek with the back of his metallic fingers.
His answer no doubt shocked everyone in the room, including yourself.
You couldn't help the tiny smile you gave in response to his words, a soft breath escaping your lips as your heart fluttered.
ββββββ β¦ β β¦ ββββββ
It's been a good week since then and he hasn't made any initiative to wipe out humanity, but you didn't know that of course. You were completely unaware of the effect you had on Ultron, unknowingly changing his mind because of your unwavering kindness. The Avengers noticed this but didn't say anything, not wanting to possibly bring back his original plan if it meant letting him stick close to you, even if it was in the tower as well.
You didn't know why he was considered a threat, claiming that he'd harm you and take over the world. He never did harm you or even made an attempt to do so, his sentries didn't even do that. Though, that was because he'd have to tell them to, which he didn't and he never would.
"My love, what are you doing?" The soft tone of Ultron spoke, bringing you from your thoughts.
You were currently sitting in his lap with one of his arms in your own, your back against his chest as you placed a bunch of little stickers on his arm.
"You haven't been mean to anyone in the past week, so I'm rewarding you." You replied softly, placing a small sticker of a duck on the metal.
"And you're doing that with stickers?" He asked almost teasingly, gently tugging you closer with his other arm. "How vile."
You let out a soft giggle in response, placing one more sticker on his arm along with the growing cluster. You placed down the half used sheet of stickers on the table in front of you, then snuggled back into him.
You had unknowingly saved the world from total annihilation all because you were kind to Ultron, but you'd never really know that since you weren't convinced that he had a plan to destroy humanity. Hell, you weren't convinced that he'd hurt other people because he never hurt you, though that's just what you thought. You were completely oblivious about the "situation" and no one brought it up, not wanting to actually bring about the end of humanity.

Might write a part 2 to this expanding on the "everyone notices Ultron's change in behavior due to [name]'s kindness and they're completely oblivious about it" part since the only "everyone" that notices is the Avengers, so- idk, might write a part two
