I felt Jermaine and Chase Young relationship had a lot potential, that was ( like Jermaine himself) wasted and untapped.
Oh youāre absolutely correct. Everything relating to Jermaine was, imo, sadly underutilized. He was a great character who fit in super well with the rest of the team, and him training under Chase was suuuuuch a cool idea.
To be honest though, I have no idea how that relationship would even have been fleshed out more in the series proper⦠Yes, it wouldāve been great if we could have had a several episode arc where Jermaine was Chaseās apprentice, but I also donāt think Jermaine is the type to be fooled for a long time either, especially once Omi and the others are there to sow a seed of doubt, thus helping him see the truth.
The big way I could see it taking place would be if Chase wasnāt revealed to the monks as Jermaineās teacher for several episodes, and by that time he was revealed, Jermaine would have already shown Omi (and the others, but Omi in particular) the ideology of his teacher. This ideology turns out to be surprisingly solid āwith a few hints of moral gray areas of course cause itās Chaseā and Omi gets drawn in by the ideas first, then finds out they originated with Chase.
Not only would this introduce another level of āseducing Omi to the dark sideā so to speak, but would also give room to show Chase as a competent teacher to Jermaine, giving both another layer of character complexity as well as more insight into their relationship. By this time too, it would make more sense to us as an audience why Jermaine is so adamant about sticking with Chase, cause we can see that he makes at least a few good points.
Then again, thatās sorta just a slight rework and extension of the original episode⦠Anyway, YES, Jermaine was a great character I would have LOVED to see more of, especially as part of the team, but alas XS could not give us everything. :/
Jermaine not getting to be the Dragon of Wood (or so much as referenced) in XC is still one of the biggest let downs for me. I was so ready for him to join the monks as a main character and continue that storyline.

Donnie Yen and his action team filmed a COVID-19 fight scene.
There are loads of these going around at the moment but itās great to see how original some people can be with the few seconds they have. I recommend Zoe Bellās as another super original one.
Imagine being loud and wrong.
Someone really said Raimundo didn't deserve to be Shoku Warrior/Leader. As if Omi did?
Look, I love our resident cueball as much as the next person, but there's no way he deserved to be leader considering everything leading up to the finale was his fault in the first place. His ego literally made him the worst candidate. Don't think for a second that had he became Shoku Warrior/Leader that he wouldn't rub it in his friends' face or use his position to look down on them, because he sure as hell did it to Raimundo damn near the entire second season for taking the longest to become a Xiaolin Apprentice, and even after he obtained the rank, Omi still looked down on him. Omi needed to learn humility, and what better way for him to learn his lesson than for Raimundo - the one Omi looked down on the most; the one he thought was the least capable as a monk - to be chosen as leader?
I would argue that Omi is the most powerful, but being the strongest definitely doesn't qualify him for leadership. I would choose Kimiko/Clay over Omi, and even they weren't really qualified for the position, especially when we saw what happened during the timelines where they were leader. Raimundo worked his butt off to get to where he was, and while he thought so little of himself that he didn't even think he deserved to be a monk, the fact is he was the most qualified for the position.
S'more character attitudes from Matt Danner's Twitter! This time featuring best girl Kimiko!
I kinda like her having a big mouth, but I guess the animation leaned towards keeping it small, and, uh... feminine.

Omi character attitudes from Matt Danner's Twitter. These didn't have to go as hard as they did, but GOLLY!! Beautiful work!

blog cleanup!
Hey anyone who still follows this blog!
So Iāve decided to drop this pairing (gasp!) for several reasons, one of them being that a grown person like me has no business shipping these youngyins this hard even if nothing āadultā went on here (ew). Save stuff if you want, but a lot of shippy stuff is going to be deleted soon. Friendship stuff is staying, however! To anyone who felt uncomfortable with this whole thing, I apologize.
Another thing is I donāt know if anyoneās noticed but this fandom is...in a deep deeeep slumber. Iām guessing we might hear something about a reboot/continuation/whatever coming out in like 2023 since that would be the 20th---OMG 20TH???---anniversary!!! Thatās just a guess/wish tho. Iām probably not gonna frequent this blog that much after I clean it up because I have no idea where everyone went. (to other fandoms probably)
Iām tempted to stan Omi even harder because boy oh boy did a Certain Reboot make people hate him more than they already had.
I still have affection for both of these characters and I hope we get a revisit to the world of Xiaolin Showdown (that isnāt too divisive like certain. Other. Reboots.) soon!
UR BACK :OOOOOO
maybe?? i gotta do some sprucing up a bit but iāve finally linked this to my main account like it should have been lol

ANGRY SNOOT
I like to think that Kimiko is a glass cannon, while Jack is the opposite.
well there is a looooot of canon basis for Jack being able to take a hit. the dude gets thrown at walls, dropped from great heights, gets jumped etc etc and somehow comes out ok with only a couple of bruises and tears
with Kimi itās hard to say since she has what seems to be the usual Xiaolin resilience. i tend to put her and Rai in the same box for speed (with Rai being a bit faster) though i do wonder if they should have the same weakness as most speedsters do(being glass cannons).Ā
maybe it goes, resilience-wise: Jack=Clay>Omi>Rai=Kimi
