koala’s front paws are almost zygodactyl, and it’s for the same reason that a chameleon’s is! having more fingers on the grabbing side helps hang onto small branches better.

cuttlefish actually have a large calcified structure in their bodies called a cuttlebone, and it’s both a structural support and the last vestigial remainder of what was once a full shell several hundred million years ago!

if you own birds, you’ve probably seen a cuttlebone before.

Defunctland is such a good youtube channel. The showrunner has the remarkable ability to make you care about obscure, random theme park attractions you have never heard of and his storytelling is top notch. It’s a very comfy YouTube channel to put on in the background when you’re working on something else. 

That and he casually drops one liners like this and "a POWERFUL rat...named Charles Entertainment Cheese."
