My City: Nathan Brown from Collingwood Football Club
Being young and successful in a capital Australian city can be tough. Real tough. We wanted to make life that little bit easier and give you the heads up on what's good in your city. We had a run through Perth with Brodie and now its Melbourne's turn.
We played a little email tennis with Nathan Brown from Collingwood Football Club about his favourite places in and around Melbourne town - check them out below!
MART
Tram spelt backwards, MART is located in old tram conductors house along the tram tracks that run along the side of Albert Park Lake. Low key, nice food and coffee, this is one of my favourite places to relax, especially in the warmer months.
Little Ox
Closer to my home this Café in Brighton, is quiet and small, but the food and coffee is amazing.
Ollie and Ari
Again, over my side of town, this café is located in the backstreets of brighton and is hard to find, which makes it very appealing. Great food, backed up by an even cooler interior. Eric Banner can often be spotted here.
Pillar of salt
Right in the thick of things on church st in Richmond, this café has great interesting food, parking is hell but well worth the hassle.
St. Ali South Melbourne
Located down an alley way in south Melbourne, the interior is worth the visit itself, set up in a warehouse with everything inside of vintage style.
Kanteen
On the banks of the yarra, and under the leafy gum trees that line the banks, this is my favourite place to relax in summer.
Speakeasy Kitchen Bar
On chapel st, a newish bar/restaurant with a large wooden outer terrace out the back which is just a good in winter than in summer.
Atico
A 1920’s themed tequila bar upstairs on chapel st. chilled out place to hang out before you kick on.
Chin Chin
The new talk of the town this Asian/Thai inspired restaurant in Flinders Lane has a little bit for everyone and is always packed to the brim with good reason.
Newmarket Hotel St Kilda
The Newmarket Hotel is a Latin Americano themed restaraunt, with a unique industrial interior that blends well with the long beer garden. Perfect for any season, especially in summer when multiple beers go down a treat.
Big Mouth St. Kilda
Right in the thick of Aclain st st.kilda, this bar is exactly what you expect in this suburb with plenty of weathered travelers, and interesting people to talk to. After 11pm, upstairs turns into a nightclub that is just as good as the bigger nightclubs but a lot less low key.
