Black Smoking Screen, Prins & Van Boven
Laser/sound performance scorching a cinemascope screen construction made of metal wool.
An electronic sound driven strong white laser beam causes a screen to smoulder, leaving traces of burned metal. Sound is propagated over a mono sound system, creating a strong monolithical frequency composition…
Black Smoking Mirror is a performance in which the principle of reflection is central. A fixed screen of inflammable canvas combusts whilst heated by laser, carrying the remains of a light engraving. This is surrounded by an electronic sound field, resulting in a frightening experience for the spectator. After the completion of the performance, The Last Frame remains on-site carrying the indelibletraces in the screen.
