TW: Mentions of SA and other sensitive topics
Hi. I made a post yesterday. This post was about why Mor should not be hated on for not coming out. It was something I had in my drafts for a while because I never had the courage to post it. Mainly because I expected something like the above to happen. I won’t lie, I am upset. I am deeply hurt but not surprised. There is a lot to unpack in this anon, so I decided to address each statement

I do not know who you are. If you blocked me, why are you still looking at my posts? Isn’t the reason for blocking me was so that you didn’t see them? You may have me blocked now, but maybe you will still find a way to see this.
Coming out is not even that hard.
Coming out is hard. It is. People have died because of this. People are still dying because of this. It has only been about 6 years since marriage was legalized in all 50 states. But even with this legalization there are many who want to overturn it, and the hate has not lessened. There are still many countries where being gay is a crime. For man, coming out is a death sentence.
Mor should have told the IC she was gay but instead she made Azriel suffer.
Mor did not have to tell anyone that she is gay. No one has to come out, ever. That is their choice and their choice only.
Azriel should have never found her.
If you do not like Mor that is fine, however I think this is pretty harsh. But like I said in my post, her not coming out should not be a reason. Also please remember, every single one of these characters are morally gray. That’s what makes them great! They are al flawed and not one is perfect.
You think that post is going to make people like elriel or eplain because of you?
This post was about problematic hate towards Mor. I did not make it to gain anything. The post had nothing to do with Elriel or Elain. I really dislike the term “eplain” since I love her dearly and know that she is not plain in the slightest. If you don’t like her that’s okay, but please know that others do like her and do relate to her.
LOL it literally makes us hate you even more so might as well go to hell now rather than later.
I don’t know if you telling me to go to hell is either you telling me to kill myself, you being homophobic, or you saying both. Either way, this is not okay.
I am so sick of you elriels trying to act better than everyone else.
I do not think that I personally act better than everyone else. I will be honest and say that I am not a very confident person. Also, please do not generalize. I am sorry if the people you interacted with that shipped Elriel has acted like they were better than everyone else, but that does not mean all do.
Gwyn went through a very traumatic thing that you can’t understand.
I am a sexual assault survivor. You were right about how Gwyn went through a very traumatic experience. But how dare you say that I will never understand? You do not know me. You do not know what I have been through. You do not know about my own traumas. I have not spoken about my experiences often, but that does not mean it never happened.
Nothing that eplain has been through will ever compare to that.
Elain has been through many traumatic moments. Do not diminish her trauma to uplift Gwyn. And do not compare these two character’s trauma. Do not compare anyone’s trauma. Stop pitting Elain and Gwyn against each other.
You being gay will not compare to that either.
Again, I am a survivor. Sexual assault and harassment is something I unfortunately face every single day. It is terrifying. But I will not compare me coming out to me being a SA survivor. I will not compare my SA to Gwyn’s and I will not compare me coming out to Gwyn’s SA. Do not compare trauma, this isn’t a competition, fictional or not.
Gwyn is so strong while that plant just whines and cries. She literally does nothing.
Gwyn and Elain are both strong. I suggest you reread the books again since you clearly do not remember all of the amazing things Elain has done. There are many posts that lists these moments, I have a few on my page too. And again, stop pitting Gwyn and Elain againts each other.
She can redeem herself by making Lucien happy, even though he totally deserves better.
Elain is not an object. She does not need to make Lucien happy. And Lucien does not “deserve better.” This is a very misogynistic take.
You need to deactivate now before Gwyn’s book gets confirmed
SJM is the only one who truly knows who the next book will be about. We can make posts and analyze as much as we want but we really just have to wait to hear the actual confirmation from SJM herself. If you believe it is Gwyn’s bok next, then that is your opinion, just like how it is my opinion that Elain’s book is next. Either way, I will deactivate my account only if I want to.
In my opinion, the way many say “gwynriel supremacy” is pretty concerning. The tone of if is terrifying and reminds me of something else that sounds similar.
I do not know you. And you do not know me. Writing this took me a long time because I was hurt, and I still am. However, I refuse to let whoever you are bring me down. Fandoms should be a safe and welcoming space. But it’s not. I wish it was, but there is unfortunately a lot of deep rooted problematic issues within this fandom and fandoms as a whole. I have always tried to be the kindest I can be, and that will not change. And I will continue to try to make my own page and this fandom a safe and positive place for all.
This is not the only anon I have received. And I do know that not all are like this anon. But I needed to share this.
I hope you find happiness to lessen the hate in your heart.
