My beautiful green sweater is all knit up!!!!
uh yeah so these definitely aren't getting finished tonight
claude uploaded two weeks in a row we're so back
got em done right under the wire
This yarn is rough, but I'm rescuing. Nice after a good wash.
finished a shawl, blocked the shawl, took pictures of the shawl
very, very pleased with this one. it's soft and drapes amazingly, the gradient flows like i was picturing in my head and i was able to make the shawl i wanted
pattern is Knitting By the Pool by Romi Hill. great pattern, not so complicated i couldn't watch something while knitting while being just complicated enough to make sure my brain stayed engaged. also an excellent pattern for a gradient. i could see making this pattern again in another gradient, possibly for gifting purposes
yarn is a handspun 2 ply laceweight 100% BFL gradient from Hilltop Cloud's Never Ending Gradient Club. i used around 90 grams for the shaw, and i extended the last section by 8 rows. the yarn is from the beginning of my study of consistency in spinning lace and gradients so i can see the areas i was looking to improve at the time and how i would handle them now. still i'm very happy with how the yarn knit up
now to figure out what my next knitting project will be
sock updateee
they're still cute tho
also i got second sock syndrome so bad that my tension changed MASSIVELY and the second sock is wayyy too big. i'll rip it back and shorten it eventually but i need something new so. gift time
waittt i'm gonna try and felt the second sock in the dryer and see if that evens it out
ok yeah that didnt work even a little bit

sooooo i cast on for the longsleeve with the crochet thread (excuse my horrifically linty blanket. geez) i've been working on it for HOURS and here we are. using a 1930s pattern which is a first for me so this is definitely gonna be a learning experience
pattern calls for 2 ply and 3.75 mm needles so i'm using 4.25 mm and hoping for the best? originally the idea was since it's a single size pattern that's slightly too small for me, using bigger needles will make it just slightly oversized, but i forgot to account for the difference in yarn weight so now i'm worried it'll be too small.... anyway! fingers crossed i guess. also this pattern calls for 6 inches of rib at the bottom. 6 inches??? had to double check like three times that they didn't mean centimeters bc that just seems like so much. idk we'll see!
