A little mental note I typed to myself this morning. I've been trying to focus on music and writing lately. Especially with the seasons change. The air is cold, crisp, and bitter.

I'm sitting here jotting down my thoughts while staring at my muse while she naps. Having WAIKIKI here the past few days is honestly what I've needed. Since I got home from my travels a few weeks ago, I've had issues readjusting. I know what I want but now it's time to get it. Scrounging up my willpower and motivation has been a difficult task.

Trying to not walk down memory lane everyday and continue to disconnect from my past. Cutting the cord is always the toughest part. I'm far different then I was 2 years ago. Before the trauma and before the hospital. So today I jotted down mental notes, maybe I can inspire myself or another.

It's the first day of Autumn...

Allow the change. Embrace the colors as they fade away, Something new is coming

It may just be the answers you were seeking all along.

The War Within

It’s been many years we’ve been at this now.

The constant tug of war in my mind.

Sometimes I feel like there isn’t room for an ego so big.

The more I separate, detach, the more the world latches on so desperate for her. Like a moth to a flame I am called to the light.

When the camera flashes. On the stage To the spotlight I go. Nothing compares to the feeling though. The high I get when the light touches my face. When I hear the cheering of the crowd . In these moments where my dreams are reality. It’s one of the only times I truly feel alive. But When the light touches my face they only see her the ego... the star.

But when you look into my eyes the light that shines...that’s all Me. That ego is apart of me. I am her. Sometimes it’s easy to forget when you’re playing the alter ego.

You’re so used to everyone loving that side when you just want someone to love you when the lights go out.

I dread the inbetween. The moments of battling the doubt and anxiety trying to plague my mind. At those times I withdraw and seek solitude. It can be lonely. But it’s better to be alone than in bad company... even when that company is yourself . I’ve actually grown to enjoy the darkness over time. It’s still... it’s quiet...and sometimes I find peace. I find love within myself.

The war continues on but at least now i’m able to win the battle. In the end the ultimate power is love. -Glor!a Buttons FEB 2020
