Bring your own mug is more fun when you made it
Working on a large collage book. Don't necessarily know where I am going with this, but I'm liking it. Fall '16.
Lots of prints to come! Fall '16.
Working with some slabs lately. I screenprinted a pattern with slip and I've been carving away all the other space. Fall '16.
Cup inspired by my job this summer. One of many things on my bisque shelf. Fall '16
Made this mug last term and forgot about it over the summer. The oil burner has been great too! Spring '16.
One of my friends sent me snaps of an old pot in its new home. I love getting upstaged by a really cute cat!
My wood fired mug on the left, @andrewclarkpottery 's cup on the right. I like how they look in my window.
Wood fired ash tray with little sculpture in the back. Summer '16.
Discarded mugs. I made handles way too big on the last day for wet clay so a lot of these were just not fun to use. Others had glaze problems. Might not have been successful this time, but I learned something! Spring '16.
Little handbuilt mug. One of the less successful raku pieces, but I still think it's kinda cute. Spring '16
This was one of the first pieces I made at the bennington studio. I broke it at the end of this term. RIP ramen bowl 2014-16.
My work looks best in front of books. Mug and bowl are from spring 2014. Shot glasses are from that fall.
At the end of term, I smash all the pieces that didn't turn out to be food safe. This mug broke into a nice cross-section & I had to share. Spring '16.
Composite vase in its new home. Its stoneware with iron oxide painting & also one of the first pieces I've ever put into a soda kiln. Spring '16.
Two shell jars! I didn't like these enough to keep them at end of term, but working to an assignment pushed me in a far more sculptural direction than I tend to go. Aysha is a great teacher and I can't wait to take her classes again next spring. Spring '16.
