Regardless whether how the Magician was presenting himself as was real or fake, ultimately unless Servais turned against him in a hostile manner, the Mercenary would offer his assistance as if he was any other.
“Some of the others try to act like they’re better than the rest, as if they’ve done no wrong before coming here.” There was an undignified grunt of laughter as he crossed his arms. “I might’ve been a soldier but you can still call what I did what it was-- murder. If they can haul ass ‘cross the map to save mine, they can afford to suck up their pride and help him too.”
