Tell me you're a nerd who gets too invested in fanfics without telling me you're a nerd who gets too invested in fanfics. I'll go first:

Last night, at like 10:30, I refreshed my open ao3 tab on my laptop and saw that @himboskywalker had updated CMWIA. I didn't go on tumblr for the rest of the night so I wouldn't stumble over a spoiler.

Now here I am with my coffee ready to read the last chapter.

Oh my god flashback to when Kit Fisto straight up said Anakin was hot.

CMWIA Reread

Obi-Wan’s eyes crinkled under his furrowed eyebrows. “You agreed to the Marriage Bill. I find that very within the actions of a peacekeeper.”

“Because marriage is such a sacrifice,” he snapped.

“It is when it’s to me.”

So I wanna dissect this a bit. Obviously, Obi-Wan is referencing his designation. A marriage of 2 alphas will only end in destruction. But can we talk about how they both are envious of the other?

Anakin is envious that this "beta" is better at moving like and behaving like an alpha than he is. And Obi-Wan is envious that Anakin has such a handle on his "alpha instincts". Anakin feels like he falls short in emulating an alpha and Obi-Wan has never managed to reign himself in enough.

It's just... Sad. Like they feel like despite their efforts, they don't measure up to what they "should be". I'm just so ready for them to know. Everything will make sense then.

I wonder if Obi-Wan will find out because the healers take the implant out or if he'll be told by Anakin. Gah. Ch. 15 can't come soon enough lol.

Guess who decided to go back and re-read Conceal Me What I Am again? That's right. Me. I began reading it without reading the tags the first tine and I read it intermittently with other fics so my memory of earlier chapters is a bit skewed.

Is the first sentence of this fic a Good morning Vietnam reference?? Am I looking too into it??
