Not wanting to commandeer all of Felix's time, they both went off to mingle and see friends for a bit, and when Emerson saw one face in particular her jaw dropped slightly. "Maya?" She called once she was close enough, a smile immediately pulling onto her lips as she saw her old friend. "Oh my gosh, you're back!"

Ever since Maya first texted her around her birthday a few months ago, Priya didn't know what to think of her sister. For pretty much her entire life, especially the last nine years, she'd been convinced that her sister felt the same way their parents did-- that Priya was the outlier of their family, a disappointment, a disgrace to the Desai name. So when Priya finally divorced her husband and freed herself from the life forced upon her by her father, she assumed that Maya would be like him and want nothing to do with her.
So, suffice to say, her sister's text left her reeling. And now Maya was here, back in Aurora Bay, and wanting to see her. To talk to her. She wondered what all Maya knew then, about her life. She wondered if her sister knew of the arranged marriage and all the arguments she'd had over the years with their father. She wondered if her sister actually didn't see her as the mistake their father did, and if Maya could actually accept her, flaws and all.
Finally plucking up the courage to get the answers for all those questions, Priya made her way to Ocean Crest, nerves bubbling up inside herself as she made her way up to her sister's floor and walked to her door, taking in a few calming breaths before she finally knocked, anxious to see Maya for the first time in almost a decade.

Alec had yet to find anything that could beat the high of performing. He tried often to chase the feeling— anything he could get his hands on, really— but nothing ever lived up to the feeling of adoration, of a crowd singing words back to you as you left it all on the stage.
It was, perhaps, the one place he felt like he could lay his armor down. For a moment, at least.
He wiped at his forehead, now sticky with sweat, as the last note rang out and he slid the mic back into its stand. He hopped off the stage, forgoing the stairs, as he made his way to the bar for a well deserved drink. He would have made it there, too, if not for the Maya-shaped blockade. She wasn't looking at him, but that didn't stop the sly smile from creeping across his face. A tsk, and then: "I'm starting to think you're stalking me, Jackson."

Of all the girl scout lessons to need to use, this was the last on Katie's list. Yet she diligently worked on crushing the rocks into fine pigment for paints. The mediums that Maya worked with were utterly beautiful in most situations, but she wanted these particular works to be vivid. She trusted her friend's talent to make the dragons breath life. "I was thinking that we might retell a classic." She handed the bowl of blue to Maya. "Some of the fairy tales that have been passed down through the generations. Do you think that they would like that or should we go with something new?"
Maya: “…please tell me you and Russell aren’t going around trying to raid area 51 again.” Russell: “Woah, chick, woah. Leave my name out ya mouth on this one. Besides, we tried it before it was cool.” Russell: “...There are totally aliens there, though.” Maya: “… it was gonna be either you or Cas, so– i’unno what you expected. but sure. right. totally.” Russell: “Cas didn’t want to go, he said-- and I quote -- “I’m not getting shot in the other fucking leg because of you think they got little green men over there.”“ Cas: “You're damn right I did.”
“lmk when the party’s ready and i’ll wake sleepyhead and bring her to fort pinta, can’t wait to see her face!”
SSO February Prompt Day 23: Maya Dew’s Birthday!
@mayawollman where: the olympus community center
Oz had been going around town to see if anyone else needed a helping hand with the aftermath of the storm. While a part of him, the compassionate part, was more than happy to offer his services... he also could use the extra money. There were bills that needed to be paid, tuitions, student loans, medical bills. Not to say he was being opportunistic but... he was being opportunistic.
He was just about to head on out after a job at the community center when he spotted Maya at the front desk, a smile tugging at his lips at the familiar face. “Hey beautiful, guess what.” He said without prompting as he made his way over to her. He reached into his pocket before dropping a pink USB onto her desk. “Found it.”
