     “And that’s exactly why I’ve found myself sitting here in front of you, Faye.” Nahvee speaks with certainty. Brown eyes meeting Faye’s dual colored gaze- she’d always found such mystery when she gazes into them. A storm brewing within her irises, Faye had been the hardest person for Nahvee to read. Though, she’s grasped a decent idea of Faye’s character. Strong, independent. Much like Nahvee but Faye’s drive is far more ostentatious, which differs from Nahvee. Nahvee moves in stealth, no one expects much of anything heinous from her but she’s not afraid to slip a bit of arsenic into your drink the second you turn your back to her. But Faye is upfront; dauntless with her fury. Oh, how much Nahvee admires her tenacity. Faye was the perfect friend for such an occasion- work has been stressful and it seems that there is a single person that needs to be handled. And although Nahvee has no doubt in her own talent, she can also admit when she needs assistance. This was for Faye in the long run, after all.

     The conversation started with Nahvee speaking of her discomfort at work; a calculated move on Nahvee’s end to open up the doorway and test the waters. The woman has no advice, but admits to being good at causing distractions and that seems to be what Nahvee is in search of. “I know that you like to take action rather than provide words.” she said, a hand reached to be placed so tenderly upon the top of Faye’s own hand. She knows she shouldn’t be in here like this; their visits had become less and less professional over the last few weeks as Nahvee has begun to feel far too smitten for Faye.  “I wanted to ask you for something.” she then said, her thumb slowly stroking across the top of Faye’s hand. “I have some.. things, I need to do to ensure your escape, but I need help. Words and advice wont get me anywhere, but maybe, one of your infamous distractions can. ”

     She was still adjusting to the changes: Arthur has been granted a key to her apartment and he can come and go as he pleases. He visits often, usually around the same time Nahvee has noticed. His visits often turn into sleep overs, Nahvee always offers the invitation, though she hadn’t been expecting him tonight as he hadn’t visited during his usual time. The clock reads just past ten and she had spent the last half hour submerged in the bath with a tall glass of red wine and here eyes glued onto the pages of Wuthering Heights. It wasn’t long after she had gotten out of the bath, water drained and a plush, white towel was pulled around her. He must have entered in silence; she didn’t hear the door nor did he announce his arrival- it wasn’t until she turned around and found him standing in the doorway. Nahvee’s initial reaction was a loud gasp as she clutched the towel tightly to her chest as she finally registers that it was Arthur in her doorway and not some strange man who had broken in. 

     She lets out a shaken breath; fear fading from her eyes as her grip on the towel remained as stiff as the rest of her posture. “Arthur- I..” Her gaze meets with his as she attempts to gather her thoughts. “I wasn’t expecting you tonight.” she admits. He seems to be bolder in his demeaner; perhaps more confident? More demanding? She can’t quite put her finger on it. But the fact that he didn’t seem embarrassed about catching her in a towel fresh out the bath threw her off. He’s usually so bashful, but now he seems like she’s somehow offended him keeping her body hidden from him with the towel. How long has he been standing there?  He hadn’t seen the entirety of her body before (at least not to her knowledge) ; she hadn’t shown him yet. Finally, her grip loosens slightly as her muscles relax, the towel threatening to reveal the golden skin hidden beneath as she moves closer to him that she could grab the light pink polyester robe that hung upon the wall just beside him.  “If you wanted to look at me, Arthur, no one’s stopping you.” She comments, her voice now soft spoken. Delicate. With a lift of her fingers, the towel falls from her body and plops to the floor surrounding her feet. Without turning, she began to slowly to slip the robe on, leaving it open for him to view her all he’d like. With the ends of the ribbon that wraps behind her back now in both hands, she lifts them to offer them to him. “Mind tying this for me? Or would you rather I walk around with this robe open all night?”

     With a gentle motion, she’s guided upon his lap. It didn’t take much persuasion, Nahvee understanding the que as she shifted so that she could straddle over his lap. Her knees rest on either side of him and she’s nestled against his pelvis. She’s much like an affectionate cat; often seeking his tender touch: his hands are large, callused and her skin was like silk beneath them. The contrast was enough to drive her wild. Her skin would tingle with every touch and it brings a certain weakness to her knees. She trails a dainty finger along the collar of his shirt; the ruby red polish coating her nail bright in contrast to his clothing and her deep brown eyes are half lidded as they watch her own finger trace the edge of the fabric. He smells good; he always does, the scent of him had quickly become a staple in Nahvee’s life; it was something she couldn’t get enough of. Some would say that she is love struck. Like a young girl with her high school crush.

     “There’s something about you lately, Arthur.” she spoke, her finger slowly drags down alone the lining where the fabric meets in the center at his sternum. A smile pulled across her lips as her eyes fluttered upwards so that she could meet his gaze. “You seem happier.” He’s bolder now and she’s taken notice. He smiles more- his eyes have a certain spark. It was like the meek, shy Arthur she met long ago had blossomed a new found confidence. He’s taken the lead. The last time she saw him, they were wrapped together in a whirlwind of carnal kisses and intertwined within her satin sheets. And she’s liking it- how brave he seems to have become; even with a gesture as simple as tugging her onto his lap. Nahvee studied his face carefully, her lips parting to reveal her near perfect porcelain teeth- a smile overflowing with the same affection that matched the glint in her eyes when she met his own. She was wondering why he wasn’t at work, but she didn’t question it aloud; Arthur had never been the type to call out and he didn’t show up to her covered in bruises. She’s been watching the news, she knows about the chaos he’s caused but she hasn’t seem to put it all together- not yet. She doesn’t realize that he’s lost his job nor that he killed three men on the subway a few nights prior. This new air of confidence baffled her but she accepted it with grace, finding herself feeling showered in his attention. “I’m loving this new confidence, Arthur, it looks good on you.” She’s glad that he seems to be finding himself. Removing her hand, she reached up to slick her fingers through his thick hair, eyes shifting along with the motion as she gingerly swept through the tangle of curls in a genuine act of  endearment. She’s fallen in love with him and every time she catches his eyes, she finds herself wanting nothing more for her soul to sink into his. “I like the way you look at me. You make me feel beautiful.”

     How wrong he was; he’s one of the most dangerous criminals under her care. He terrifies her, but she doesn’t show it. Her fear is masked by her professionalism and somehow soothed back by his charm. Though he’s deadly, he’s by far her most behaved patient; one that rarely gives her problems and he’s the most receptive to conversations with her. Visits to his cell linger far beyond what they should and she’s found herself growing an unhealthy attachment to the man. He’s the highlight of her shift and though she wouldn’t admit it aloud, it was starting to become quite obvious. Perhaps she found herself bonding with him it was because she harbored dark secrets of her own; ones left unspoken (even to Hannibal Lecter) but the inmates were starting to place bets on which staff member was the one taking out their competition as of late. The worst of the staff slowly dying off one by one; all by natural causes or sudden accidents, but any decent criminal would notice the pattern. Catastrophe struck only the bad seeds and the ratio of good to bad amongst the staff was dwindling with each passing month. 

     “Do you like that I’m not afraid of you, Mr. Lecter?” she inquires, brown eyes lifting from her clipboard to focus on the man, giving him her full attention. She’d just gotten in and had been making her rounds, taking vitals and double checking that everyone’s taken their morning medications. She’d never admit to him that she wonders what he’d do to her if he were to ever get out. But of course, she plays the part of a fearless woman and she plays it well. “You’ve shown me nothing but respect and I’m a firm believer in treating people the way you want to be treated.” She offers him a smile. “You haven’t done anything wrong to me yet and if you enjoy what we’ve got, then I’d suggest you keep playing nice with me.” she warned. “Besides, who else is going to sneak you in extra cookies with your dinner trays? That’s an privilege you wouldn’t want to pass up.”

     Nahvee didn’t often loose her composure; she’s a level headed woman with the patience of a saint. Work has been hard, her coworkers have deemed themselves far worse to deal with than any of the inmates. And she was running behind, getting off of work later than she should have landing her to navigate her way home through the darkness of the city alone. She was beyond ready to draw herself a hot bath and sink herself into the warmth of the water and eventually, find herself wrapped in Arthur’s arms in bed if she was lucky enough that he would have any sort of luck today enough for him to have decided to come over. And while she had hoped so much that he would be there; she didn’t anticipate to find him in the state he was; it was the straw that broke the camels’ back. He looks hurt and she could see bruising skin peeking up from behind the collar of his shirt. 

     She quickly dismissed any previous thoughts of work behind her, closing the space in between them as her hands immediately reach for his collar so that she could unbutton his shirt and inspect the bruising that tarnished his skin. “Oh- Arthur-” her words come out in a murmur, laced with worry. “What happened to you?” she shifts the fabric out of her way only to find the bruise creeping further down his body. Darker in some places than others as if he’s been punched or kicked a few times. “Did somebody do this to you?” Her eyes look up towards him, desperate for the truth and she hadn’t realized her hands began to quiver the more she discovered and she hears him bring it up. That he could feel her trembling. Her body reacting to the storm in her mind and yet, she’s trying to hold herself together because he needs her. 

     “I- yeah.. I guess I am.. I’m sorry.” She’s apologizing as if she had any control over it. Her feelings of dismay that’s stacked on top of her previous distress that’s completely wiped over her at the sight of him. “I’m just.. I’m worried, Arthur. You’re hurt-” she said, bringing her fingers to gingerly run along the violet blotches skin along his collar bone. “Please- let me take care of you. I.. this looks like it really hurts.” She wants to bring him relief; to take away his pain and his worries if only for a little while and despite the slight tremble to her body; a warning to her that she was minutes away from loosing her composure, she could only find the capacity to worry about him.

     Blood shed for the very first time by her hands. She’s standing above the body, hands trembling as tears lined the rims of her eyes and yet she feels no remorse. He’s been tormenting her for months; an orderly who didn’t know how to keep his hands to himself and has reached past the brackets of her comfort zone one too many times. Passing her in the hallway, his hand found it’s way to touch her in unsolicited manners and worst was when he found himself in a room alone with her. And he lies lifeless now in one of the storage rooms, Nahvee stands with a pair of scissors still clutched tightly in her palm. The last thing she expected was for anyone to come in here; they were short staffed today and everyone had been tied up with work. But she stands frozen as the door opened, eyes refusing to look up as she recognized Jill by the sound of her voice alone. ‘What did you do to him?’

     “I- He grabbed me..” her voice sounded weak; the adrenaline from the kill fading into something else. Fear. She had never taken anyone’s life before, this wasn’t plan. There was no tactic to it; and now, there was a witness. Her friend but Nahvee knows that she can’t expect someone, no matter how long of a friendship they have to not report such a thing. “I.. I didn’t know what else to do.” she admitted, brows furrowing as she’s trying to take it all in. She was sure that she’d wind up behind bars with the very inmates she cares for; that she, too, will fall off the deep end of what sanity remained. And she doesn’t know that Jill has a track record of her own; one painted of crimson from ungodly acts by  her hands. Finally, brown eyes lift to look towards Jill. Nahvee doesn’t know what to do. Does she smile? Does she cry? Her burdens have been eased in one way, but she’s doomed to face the consequences; a burden of it’s own weight. “Are... you going to report this?”

     It nearly drew a laugh from Nahvee; Fish was new here. She isn’t used to this. Working with the most dangerous inmates in the city was no joke and the fact that one of them was in the midst of a major tangent in their cell only proved that. Loud, incoherent screaming echoed the halls and the sound of fists slamming against the door only added effect. It wasn’t anything new to an experienced nurse like Nahvee, but still, the sounds were unsettling even for someone like Nahvee. Of course this wasn’t exactly the part of the job that Nahvee enjoyed, she knew that the patient had recently been swooped away by Jonathan Crane the previous night; his patients always come back in worse shape but Crane’s cover ups were far to detailed for even Nahvee to break past.

     “Don’t worry; they aren’t all like that.” she assured Fish. “We should get him something to help him calm down, he’s going to upset the other patients if he keeps going.” she told her. With a quick stop at the nurses station, she grabbed what they needed and led Fish in the direction of the man’s cell. “Then after this, we will need to check on the others.” she then said. The commotion was already starting to sir; patients were peeking out the small windows on their doors, some yelling and the sound of overly loud laughter could be heard echoing from a room further down the hall. “I know it’s scary, but we are going to have to restrain him. He takes well to me, but he sounds like he’s having a hard time today. Whatever Crane did to him last night must have shaken him.” She stopped in front of the door; Mr. Andrews, their patient now was on the floor rolling around screaming about bugs eating his flesh as he violently scratched at every inch of his exposed skin. “Okay, I’m going to open the door and we are going in- are you ready? Or would you prefer to watch from the door.” she asked, taking hold of her key card and stealing a glance in Fish’s direction. She wouldn’t let Fish enter with her if she weren’t ready.

@grlkills​:  “ well ,   that  didn’t  work .   any  plan  c ,   genius ?? ” / vanya for nahvee !

     She didn’t anticipate this: they are in the middle of Vanya’s escape when another inmate- a violent one at that- One thing led to anther and they’ve found themselves tucked away in a janitorial closet covered in the inmate’s blood. This hindered everything: Nahvee knows that it was a matter of time before they find the body and their escape would be ruined if they are spotted with this amount of blood on their clothing. Her job is at risk along with Vanya’s escape. She’s already done so much; the security cameras are down. Vanya is disguised in a nurses uniform and she’s brought Vayna so close to her exit; it was only a few turns away. Vanya would have simply walked out of the door without a hitch if it weren’t for the blood on her clothes. The security guard would stop Vanya at the front if they saw her in this state. They needed to do this escape as peacefully as possible and already, they’ve had to spill blood.

     The tension in the small room was thick and Vanya’s frustration was apparent. Her freedom was on the line. One wrong move, Vanya gets slapped into solitary and Nahvee gets arrested. But Nahvee thinks quickly on her feet- the nurse’s station was right down the hall in the opposite direction. If she could get them a change of clothes, they could get changed and get out. “I’ll handle the body later.” she said; another hurdle, but it would be easy to make it seem like an inmate did this- it happens all the time and with the cameras down, they’d never know. “We need to get to the nurses station- there’s only one other person on duty and If I can distract them, we can get clean uniforms.” she said. It was the best she could offer. “I’ll distract her and you get the uniforms.” she suggested. She could easily call the other nurse and send them to handle a ‘problem’ elsewhere that Nahvee was too busy to handle.
