REMUS  GAVE  A  LOW  SIGH  ,  before  then  scratching  his  inner  ear  &&  looking  over  his  friend  with  a  sad  ,  mournful  expression  .  his  heart  beat  a  little  heavier  ,  in  the  knowledge  that  james  was  never  coming  back  .  that  james  was  dead  &&  buried  &&  his  friend  will  never  get  the  opportunity  to  dance  again  .  to  sing  .  to  brush  his  hair  .  or  eat  a  chocolate  frog  or  play  with  harry  or  just  be  able  to  listen  to  the  rain  .  james  was  gone  ,  &&  it  didn’t  make  sense  .  one  minute  he  was  laughing  &&  within  the  world  &&  the  next  he  was  just  a  body  ,  lying  DEAD  with  no  soul  within  his  chest  .  no  heartbeat  .  nothing  .  &&  remus  felt  the  loss  of  james  .  oh  ,  perhaps  he  was  not  as  close  as  sirius  was  -----  or  perhaps  even  a  very  good  friend  to  james  .  at  times  he  was  certain  he  was  just  a  drain  on  his  friends  life  .  but  merlin’s  beard  did  remus  MISS  him  .  down  to  the  core  ,  felt  it  disrupt  his  very  being  .  right  down  to  his  core  .

so  merlin  only  knew  what  lily  was  going  through  . 

as  he  sat  on  the  sofa  ,  watching  her  ,  remus  lifted  his  brow  &&  settled  down  ,  before  then  reaching  over  &&  taking  her  hand  in  his  .  saying  nothing  ,  head  dipped  down  .  i  know  .  i  know  .  i  know  .

16) receiver wakes up in the hospital and finds sender at their side,  who is in the same clothes as the day they were admitted because they’ve refused to leave their side. 

SUNLIGHT  HAS  BEGUN  TO  CRACK  ACROSS  THE  WEST  OF  THE  HOSPITAL  .  alighting  remus’  face  with  soft  hues  beautiful  of  yellow  ,  gold  &&  orange  .  such  a  juxtaposition  to  the  way  his  face  had  been  aged  through  so  many  years  of  illness  &&  scratched  with  so  many  reminders  of  his  affliction  .  the  sun  was  warm  .  it  was  a  comfort  .  despite  it  all  .  it  made  his  eyes  FLICKER  .  aware  vaguely  of  where  he  was  -------  for  he  had  been  brought  here  earlier  .  this  morning  ?  he  was  sure  ,  but  perhaps  it  had  been  longer  .  he  could  not  remember  further  than  that  .  just  the  taste  of  a  potion  TOUCHING  his  lips  &&  his  heavy  bones  dropping  entirely  .  falling  amongst  the  soft  comforts  of  the  bed  linens  .  which  now  felt  harsh  &&  uncomfortable  as  his  blood  had  dried  across  the  sheets  .  his  chin  lifted  &&  a  soft  exhale  left  him  ,  fingers  TWITCHING  ,  he  felt  the  curl  of  hands  inwards  ,  the  feeing  of  rough  bandages  .  he  was  struggling  to  wake  fully  ,  to  remember  what  had  brought  him  here  in  the  first  place  .  his  chest  felt  HEAVY  .  like  he  had  been  hit  by  something  .  the  familiar  aches  of  his  own  body  mixed  out  with  whatever  else  had  happened  .  

it  takes  remus  a  moment  ,  the  exhale  ,  the  breath  inside  .  lungs  BURNING  .  head  aching  .  he  finally  manages  to  let  his  eyes  flicker  open  &&  the  blur  is  all  he  can  see  .  a  few  more  blinks  &&  his  sight  returns  to  him  .  yes  .  a  hospital  .  but  he  can’t  tell  where  .  a  moment  of  CONFUSION  takes  him  but  then  his  eyes  set  upon  a  familiar  face  ,  bushy  hair  &&  kind  features  of  a  teen  he  was  not  truly  expecting  to  be  sat  there  .

voice  croaked  ,  breaking  ,  hoarse  &&  UNCOMFORTABLE  .  “  what  ------  what  are  ...  hermione  ?  ”

“  YEAH  WELL  IT  HURTS  ,  ”  remus  replied  with  a  sour  expression  playing  across  his  face  as  she  tended  to  the  wounds  on  his  back  .  features  SCREWED  up  slightly  as  she  ran  a  cloth  against  the  scars  &&  he  felt  his  skin  prickle  &&  ache  &&  burn  .  whatever  lotion  she  was  putting  on  him  was  foul  smelling  &&  worse  still  ,  a  stinging  bitch  to  have  on  him  .  grimacing  slightly  ,  remus  screwed  up  his  eyes  &&  gave  a  low  shuddering  sigh  .  “  SORRY  ,  i  didn’t  mean  to  snap  at  you  ,  ”

HAND  LIFTED  UP  ,  &&  THEN  PALE  FINGERS  BEGAN  WORKING  ON  HIS  WRIST  ,  &&  remus  winced  in  misery  as  he  felt  a  tight  bandage  be  patched  up  .  but  in  honesty  ?  remus  wasn’t  really  focused  .  he  was  floating  through  consciousness  &&  unconsciousness  .  black  &&  blinding  WHITE  pain  .  had  he  fallen  or  gotten  hurt  ?  he  couldn’t  remember  .  not  really  .  clearing  his  throat  ,  remus  fought  against  tired  eyes  &&  glanced  over  to  see  sirius  beside  him  .  looking  also  WORSE  for  wear  .  

“  you  look  like  shit  ,  ”  remus  grunted  with  an  edge  of  sarcasm  .
