Cafe Drink Vocabulary

Cafes usually break their menu down by sections:

1) 커피/에스프레소 Coffee/Espresso

아메리카노 | americano

에스프레소 | espresso

카페라떼 | cafe latte

카푸치노 | cappucino

카라멜마끼아또 | caramel macchiato

바닐라라떼 | vanilla latte

카페모카 | caffe mocha

화이트모카 | white mocha

2) 라떼 | Lattes

These are ones that (usually) don't have coffee in them. Always better to ask.

군고구마라떼 | sweet potato latte (tan/slightly green color)

자색고구마라떼 | purple sweet potato latte

그린티/녹차라떼 | green tea latte

초코라떼 | hot chocolate

블루베리라떼 | blueberry latte

3) 아이스/에이드 | Iced/Ade

This category is usually iced teas, specialty iced drinks, and "ades." The lemonades and other drinks are usually more of the non-American style where they're fizzy instead of made with water, sugar, and juice of the fruit.

지금 몰고 있는 차는 빨간색 스팅어다. 

그 전엔 단지 국산차를 포함해서 남들이 많이 타고 다니는 차가 싫어서 jeep에서 나온 compass란 차를 탔다. 연비도, 편의성도, 성능도 모두 평균 이하였지만, 희귀성 하나로 나름 만족하며 탔다. 어차피 나는 내 물건을 애지중지하는 타입의 인간은 아니었으니, 큰 손 가지 않고 적당히 굴러가기만 하면 충분했다. 

아무튼 두번째 차를 사려고 했을 때, 내 첫번째 기준은 6기통 가솔린 엔진이었다(준희의 기준은 빨간색 차였다). 다운사이징의 시대에 6기통 엔진은 점점 비싸질테고, 첫번째 차도 10년 가까이 탔으니, 두번째 차도 그정도 기간을 탄다고 생각하면, 세번째 차는 어쩌면 내연기관 자동차가 아닐 확률이 높을테니 이번이 어쩌면 마지막으로 6기통 엔진을 몰아볼 기회가 아닐까라고 생각했기 때문이다. 

bmw도 후보군에 있었지만, 그보단 더 싸고, 출시된지 얼마되지 않은 신차라 더 희귀한 스팅어를 고르는 건 합리적이고도 쉬운 선택이었다. 하지만 국내 최대 렌터카 회사에 다니는 주변 사람들의 의견을 중시하는 아내는 얘가 2명이면 당연히 스팅어가 아니라 그랜져를 사야한다는 주변인들의 반응에 스팅어를 선택하길 주저했다. 

하지만 결국 아내는

생각해보니 내가 오빠랑 결혼한 이유는 오빠가 그랜져가 아닌 스팅어를 고르는 사람이었기 때문이야

라는 훌륭한 이유를 들면서 내 선택에 동의를 했더랬다. 

하지만 차를 사고 3개월만에 우리는 셋째가 생겼다는 사실을 알게 되었고, 그래서 다시 차를 바꿔야만 한다는 사실을 받아들여야만 했지만, 아직도 여전히 난 빨간색 스팅어를 타고 다닌다.
