Based on Zelanzy's version of Fallout. 😁 Recommend the book not so much the movie unless you like George Peppard.

after so many years of freedom, charm and revelry's mother found them. she came intending to take sorrel away, to raise him herself and exploit his primal abilities, but sorrel's new family was not going to let that happen.
cajeta had not been able to identify or admit the feelings she had for charm, but she was certain that all she wanted in that moment was to protect her. rage and love fueled her, and, seeing the fear in charm's eyes, cajeta decided charm would never feel so afraid again. not while she was here. not if she could help it.
Sorrel 5?
sorrel with a member of their family (do they get along?)
"i love my mama! and my uncles! and ms. pyrrha and mr. gawain! not my grandma, though.... but mama says she's not family any more so yeah, i love all my family. :)"
charm and revelry took sorrel and left their abusive mother's home when sorrel was ~4 (he's now 8-9). they raised pretty much entirely on their own- sorrel's biodad had no intention of helping, and his grandmother never raised a finger unless it was to parade him around. but the marvelous market staff are very tight-knit and took them all under their collective wing, they all help out with sorrel's upbringing.
