– COLE CONNER IS PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE RIGHT NOW, and claire’s not really capable of being super sensitive about that, especially because she’s always thought he sucked. so, maybe she’s not the best person to pay mary a visit, but she saw something she thought might cheer her up. “ mary, open up ! ” kicks the door with her boot. sure, mary’s not obligated to see anyone, but due to being an accomplice in her surprise murder...maybe there’s an unspoken obligation. “ i got something for you. ”

– CLAIRE KNOWS BETTER THAN TO TEXT. because mary is actually popular and well-liked at gallagher, so if claire’s phone has been blowing up, mary’s must be ridiculous. and if she’s anywhere near the same mindset as claire, she doesn’t want to look at her phone by now. she knows they feel similarly about part of this ; NO REGRETS. but neither of them had anticipated word getting out to the whole school like this, that everyone that they come into contact with every day on campus would be able to watch a VIDEO of that vulnerable moment. 

there’s not a lot of people claire wants to be around today. mary is half of them. 

“ mary, it’s me, ” is what she says first, because she wouldn’t answer the door today either. then she knocks. she doesn’t intend on staying. already people have watched her walk down the hall, and it’s taken pretty much everything in her to keep her fist curled and at her side. the other’s holding a handle of vodka. “ hey, ” claire meets mary’s gaze with a slight lift of her brow, but otherwise her expression is pretty blank. naturally, it doesn’t betray what’s in her heart, which is how much she cares about her, and how ALIKE she feels they are ever since she saw that look in mary’s eye when faced with cecil a year ago. not everyone in this school knows what it’s like to hate someone that much, but claire gets it. “ do you wanna get out of here ? ” pros of dating a sutton : claire knows the best hiding spots.
