Problematic™ stuff aside, what do you think about Ryan/Yaz/Graham this season? I'm enjoying them realizing they don't know shit about the Dr and actually calling them out on it. (Also, I love how Mandip Gil did the whole synapse realm thing. You can tell it really traumatized Yaz. I always love it when characters are actually, like, fucked up by fucked up shit. Gives it some fun emotional stuff to play with.)

they feel a lot more settled-in, for sure, like a broad Ryan or Graham joke (the - fuckin. Logan. Laser Shoe??) lands a bit better having spent some time with these characters. it feels easier this season, deffo. and i love that they’re their own little family against the Doctor, that’s a neat companion dynamic - like you usually have the, yanno, the one teacher’s pet and the one rebel and the ble bloo bla - like they’re all nerds who have morphed into a unit which is “be annoying at the Doctor because come ON who the fuck are they WHO IS SHE”

but like on whole : teamwork! makes a dream work. i just really love these dorks

and aw jeez yeah Gil sold that. i like yaz and was a little miffed she didn’t have more to do last season and like, i’m not saying go traumatize her, but damn. that bit after she came back is toe to toe with Graham’s hallucinatory weirdness after Grace’s death for “unexpected realness in dr whom” - i’d love to see it followed up on in like a normal way but if they want to do some brain worms of metaphor like i wouldn’t complain
