The real story behind chances gun vv
𓂃۶ৎ no one has ever prepared kei for this new step of parenting, when his little girl would learn how to say her first words.
you’d been trying to teach aiko for many months now, even though she was still too young to speak. he would always catch you hold her and get her to say ‘mama’: at any time of the day you were with her, smiling and encouraging her, breaking the word into syllables.
you never seemed to gave up and after months, she finally said it. you were having dinner, feeding her, when she mouthed ‘mama’ and smiled proudly. you froze for a couple of seconds, then jumped on her in excitement and squeezed her tiny body.
and kei? he was happy too of course. but what about ‘dada’?
that’s when he got in competition with you, wanting to show that he was able to teach her faster than you. there were days were he would repeat ‘dada’ for hundreds of times until aiko would get a headache herself. today was one of those days.
“say ‘da-da’”
“…”
“come on sweetheart, i know you can say it…’da-da’”
she stared at him, giggling with her puffy cheeks as if she was making fun of him.
“mama”
kei took a deep sigh, the ninth one now. nothing was coming out of her little mouth except for your name. aiko kept playing with her plastic blocks, acting like her dad wasn’t sitting next to her defeatedly.
“it is really that hard?…” he murmured, but aiko ignored him.
“it’s always ‘mama’, and not ‘dada’”
at his words she stopped and stared at him, expression so focused it seemed like her tiny neurons were finally forming a thought. then, unexpectedly,
“daaa-da…dada”
his heart skipped a beat, back straightening immediately and eyes opening wide.
“god…say it again sweetie”
she seemed confused at his sudden change in expression.
“come on, you’ve just said it. ‘dada’, i heard you…”
she recognized the words, her toothless mouth turning into a big smile.
“‘mama’”
“goddamn it…” he closed his eyes, back of the head hitting the couch as he let out yet another sigh in resignation.
