A lot could be said about the Egyptian queen, but it couldn’t be denied that she didn’t have good timing. Her arrival at the French castle happened to coincide with a masquerade ball. Rowena was looking forward to being reunited with her husband, she had missed him dearly. She had stayed behind in Egypt to deal with his family, whilst he came to deal with her own family demons. Rowena knew she wouldn’t have been able to face her almost aunt, or her father without Kosey by her side.
Descending the staircase with the grace that was expected of her Rowena’s eyes searched for familiar faces - those she wanted to see, and those she didn’t. She wore a beautiful floor-length silver gown, adorned with red and blue jewels to match her husbands. Despite her face being covered by a silver mask, Rowena was still easily recognised by her pure white locks.
“Oh, no. Not for me. Thank you,” Rowena said politely, declining the rich red glass of wine that was offered to her. She’d much rather keep her senses intact.
