People who call Starbucks "*$" need to slow down
So, my fellow UK residents who are anything like as obsessed with Starbucks as I am (seriously, I have a totally weird boner over all things Starbucks- I have like 3 different cups/mugs, I have a card, I ~*dream*~ of working there, I nerdily call it *$s) will know that we don't get Pumpkin Spiced lattes over here :( Not in Summer, not in winter- not ever. Apparently they haven't tested well over here, so they have no plans to bring them (we also don't have green-tea anything except... tea, which isn't made with matcha, so it's not the same anyway but I digress)
So, this afternoon when I made my afternoon coffee I picked out the mixed spice from my cabinet and sprinkled a little in, and then when I'd added the water I put a few drops of vanilla extract into it, and some brown sugar. And then I frothed some milk (if you don't know how to froth milk by hand, get on that shit- it makes any regular instant/filter/macchinetta coffee feel super fancy) and I sprinkled a little more spice over the top, and guys. It's not pumpkin spice. But dear god, as soon as I got a nose full of that smell did I ever feel cosy and delightful.
I'm tempted to try and make my own syrup- if I could get it a little more "smooth" it'd be a pretty coffee-shop tasting beverage.
