Hurst/Olds 1969 Oldsmobileās management and its dealers must have been pleased by the ā68 Hurst/Olds success, and Hurst joined forces with them for another H/O in 1969.Ā There were 916 Hurst/Olds built in 1969, including five convertibles for Hurst employees.
Hurst used the same formula for the 1969 car. The Cutlass coupes would be built in Lansing, then shipped to Demmerās facility for the Hurst treatment. This time, Hurst got the colors he wanted, Cameo White with Firefrost Gold stripes added by Hurst. Like the ā68, Lansing built the cars with the 455 engine, but again the official word was that Hurst made the switch.Ā
The 455 engine delivered 380 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and a thundering 500 lb-ft of torque through a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic featuring a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter.
