Riverdale Appreciation Week Day 4: Scene
“Betty, you are positively radiating Nicholas Sparks. Tell me everything about this Trev.” Veronica said excitedly.
He was looking intently at her bright expression and looked away eventually, not able to handle whatever ugly emotion he was starting to feel whenever that Trev was mentioned.
“Oh, there’s nothing to tell. Just one of Betty’s sources, there’s nothing romantic in the offing.”
“Why is everything weird here? Why can’t a date just be a date?”
He tuned out of the conversation after that, instead focusing on the blonde girl seated beside Archie and talking to him.
There it goes again. The uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach. He knew it wasn’t because f anything he ate, because ever since he was little, he could chow down anything he wanted without any consequences of stomach pains.
It wasn’t until the rest of the gang left that he finally thought that he would have some quiet time to himself.
Except for the fact that apparently, he wasn’t alone. Kevin Keller was still there, and was trying to say something to him that he didn’t understand.
“Sorry, I didn’t catch that.”
“You were jealous, weren’t you?” It wasn’t a question.
“No.” He had no intention of talking to Kevin with these kinds of things. Also, he had better things to do than this.
“It’s as clear as day, Jones. I don’t understand why Betty couldn’t see that.”
“Maybe because it’s non-existent?”
“You can lie to them, but it doesn’t work on me. I saw how you looked at Trev back in the office. You were more sarcastic than usual too. And that you can’t stop staring at Betty since. So, yeah, it’s kinda obvious.”
Damn it, was he really that childish?
“Those are nothing, Keller. I was just skeptical of the guy. He could be lying to us, for all we know.”
“Sure, keep on denying. Your feeling will come out one way or another.”
“Whatever, I’m out.” He said, grabbing his satchel and leaving Kevin in the stands.
Was Kevin right? Is he really jealous? Of Trev?
In all honesty, he was scared. Very, very scared. This was the first time he was experiencing these kinds of emotions and he had no idea on what to do with them.
Still, one thing was sure.
Betty Cooper was stuck in his head, and he was slowly getting more and more attached to her as each day passes.
And he’s perfectly fine with that.
a/n: here’s another one!! really tried to keep them in character in this one lol
