I found this cool #commemorativestamp honoring the #150thbirthday of #ukrainiancomposer #mykolalysenko the founder of #ukrainianclassicalmusic #lysenko composed music for piano, voice, and chamber music, but is perhaps best known as an #operacomposer His most famous work is the #opera #tarasbulba the opening melody of which is printed on this #postagestamp This opera, which is about a #ukrainiancossack rebellion in the 17th century was beloved by none other than #petertchaikovsky who knew and admired Lysenko.
