Warcraft: The Beginning / Ruth Negga as Queen Taria Wrynn

This beautiful grey velvet dress appears in the epilogue, at the king's funeral. Queen Taria was a new character created for the movie, meaning there was no animated version to draw upon and they could design her look from scratch. It's hard to see in the actual film, but she has the lion of Stormwind worked into the back of the gown!

Went down a rabbit-hole after work that started with the 2010 Clash of the Titans and ended with Alex Proyas's Gods of Egypt. We certainly had a fair number of high fantasy mythology epics during that period, didn't we?

For all the reasons Gods of Egypt isn't a great movie, there aren't exactly a great number of films centered on Egyptian mythology to choose from, are there? It's a guilty pleasure movie of mine, mainly because it's cooler in its depiction of Apophis than the version in The Librarians (that's a fun show, should give it a rewatch, I think).

Okay, and the gods' true forms basically being a power armor suit is cool visually. Shout out to my man Horus for looking like a Keyblade Wielder from Birth by Sleep.

Again, not a great film by any means, but it does feature the late Chadwick Boseman as Thoth who tragically never gets to reveal to us the Truth of Lettuce. Gerard Butler also looks like he's having fun.

For the record, I'm again, very proud of any movie with a revenge narrative going through with its revenge. No moral hang-ups about how killing someone makes you the same as the villain. Set slaughtered Osiris and attempted to destroy all life via Giant Umbilicus Snake. Horus gets a morality pass for showing no mercy. Kinda like Proyas's other, more popular film, in that regard.
