In the far Northern Hemisphere, a small town of Alaska, experiences a solid month of darkness every year. Though most of the residents head south for the winter, some townspeople remain behind. However, those that stay regret their decision when, one year, hungry vampires descend on the town to feed. Leaving the local Sheriff played by (Josh Hartnett), his wife (Melissa George) and a dwindling band of survivors must try to last until dawn breaks over a monthlong twilight. 30 days of night overall builds an amazing atmosphere and sense of dread at first with some beautiful imagery that sets the tone just right but things quickly grow silly with the over the top acting of the vampires at times, and a bunch of expendable characters, however I did find the concept of the vampires having their own dialect quite interesting and incredibly original, although it would have been more engaging not to be subtitled, which as a result could illustrate a mystery to their dialogue and what they would be saying, It also becomes a little too repetitive in its pacing after a while and unfortunately keeps the same formula until the end. Overall 30 days of night has a few engaging thrills and potential but ultimately succumbs to its uneven pacing and unfortunate predictable ending. 6/10 ~Mr Myers #horrormoviesreview #30daysofnightmovie #movietime #moviereviewer #horror https://www.instagram.com/p/CPBp7FzFRXr/?utm_medium=tumblr
