Do you see the doe-eyed, sweet, soft, neutral colors, aesthetically pleasing academic working diligently at the well-lit table in your local independent coffee shop? Great. Now, if you look behind them, in the darkest corner, you'll spot the chaotic, just-woke-up, 1800s-tormented-poet aesthetic one slumped over the table on their fifth double macchiato, brooding over ink-splotched papers and three different worn-out leather journals. That's me right there, hi.

Really late update. After a morning lecture I studied with a friend at a cafe, and then at the library, it was a productive day.
My presentation is tomorrow, but I'm not too nervous about it, for some strange reason. I also managed to do some other stuff in preparation for the exams I have later in June and the paper on Henry James I have due on the 27th.
The overcast weather was ideal for studying, less ideal for walking home.

Heading back to my parents' place to rest for a few days before the exam session. Travelling by train feels so relaxing and peaceful, I always enjoy it. Obviously I had to pick the right reading to go with it.

Since yesterday's presentation went well, today I treated myself with books and bubble tea (because self-care is important).
A light drizzle was coming down, so I went to this cute secondhand bookshop and snooped around for a bit, the owner was super nice too. After that I went to get a boba.
I didn't do much today, but a day of rest helps productiveness too. I did manage to revise an assignment I have to hand in, so there's that.

To celebrate my birthday I went to the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum in Syracuse. It was brilliant. I got myself a copy of the Iliad as a souvenir.

Although I'm supposed to be taking a break from uni, I brought the magazine I usually read for German practice (fluter.) with me and read some.
There was an article about risk taking and risk awareness, it was really interesting and I learnt several new words and sentence structures that I'll use in my writing.
