Wow, it’s been quite some time since my last update here! Unfortunately, that isn’t likely to change any time soon. If you take a look on my Patreon, you’ll find some changes that I’ve decided to implement recently– namely, the fact that from now on, I’ll only be doing Compendiums. Collecting large chunks of content, and putting them out all at once, seems to be the way to go with my schedule. I’ll still do sneak peeks, like this one, from time to time. But if you’d like to see more content, you can always sign up for my patreon as a playtester, where I do special alpha and beta releases of Compendiums to get feedback!

Legend of Zelda Races- Zora

This next commission was for the zora from the LoZ series as a 5e race. I think I captured them okay, with a couple of fun additions that I felt were needed to better flesh out their culture and things. I made note of three different subraces, but there are only two here. The last is sort of like the duergar to the zora’s dwarves- they’re a thing, but just not represented here. Maybe in a later addition, but this has taken me too long as it is.

Gummyguts (5e Race)

You are a being made of candy! Your insides are all sorts of sweet or sour, yummy, gooey candy. Most Gummyguts look like brightly-colored animals, usually bipedal. Size: Small or Medium Speed: 10ft small, 30ft medium Darkvision: 60ft

Ability Score Increase +2 Dex, +1 Cha

Languages Common and one other language

Skill Proficiency Survival and one other skill proficiency

Squishy Resistance to Bludgeoning damage

Melty Disadvantage against Fire Damage

Sliced Open When at half your HP or below, you're sliced open and can use your gummy intestines as ropes. You gain the following advantages: You have advantage on Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws. You gain the Whip melee weapon, and cannot be put at disadvantage on attacks with it.

Yummy Gummy When someone eats your gummy guts, you lose 1d4 HP, and the person that eats them gains 1d4 HP. At level 8, they gain 1d8. At level 12, they gain 1d10.

Bouncy You can jump up to 20 ft. in the air, and have resistance to fall damage.

Stretchy You can stretch your arms, legs, and tail up to 10 ft.

Munch At level 5, if you eat candy, you gain 4d4+4 HP.

Splat! At level 8, if you take fatal fall damage, it takes 1d4 turns to reform and come back to life with 1d8 HP.

Break Apart At level 12, you can break apart into 1d4 smaller Gummyguts in your image. Your health is divided evenly among them, but their ability modifiers remain the same. Only the original can use your abilities, but each copy can attack individually. You can use this once per long rest. I hope you enjoy! If you make a Gummyguts, send me a drawing of your character! Nezumi Race- Kamigawa

Another Patron request, done and down. Well, the first half of it. The second half will be around in about 3 hours. This ties in with a commission from last month, where I converted the Soratami and Orochi from Kamigawa into player races. I had a feeling I’d be doing some more of these, but I’m glad I turned out to be right.

And here’s the second part of this commission. In addition to the ratfolk nezumi, we also get the foxfolk kitsune this month. I think both fit really well into the pre-existing concepts for both, considering how little we really got from the Kamigawa block.

Magic: the Gathering Races- Soratami/Moonfolk (Kamigawa)

The second race requested by my Patron Matthew McKinnon for their January commissions was the Soratami, also called the Moonfolk, and like the Orochi they too are from Kamigawa. These are a bit simpler than the Orochi, though if only because the Soratami are basically demihumans. Still, it was hard to think of some good racial traits for them, but I think my solutions were rather creative.
