Well, maybe it's not really Leroy Day?
I got a reply from a Japanese fan artist who've I shared before that the Stitch & the Samurai side story that finally gave Leroy the number 629 wasn't actually officially checked for content, according to a tweet from the late author/illustrator Hiroto Wada in response to a fan's question. That artist likes to believe that Leroy is Experiment 628, which has been used on merchandise before.
Still, whether or not it's official, the manga's side story remains the closest thing we got to an "official" confirmation. (Besides, plain old merchandise doesn't really count much for any franchise's canon.) So here's some Leroy fan art from the past year and today for 629 Day!
