"Buck will receive something that only Eddie can relate to"
This is super out there, but what if Buck gets shot?
There are theories bouncing around about a Russian mob storyline, another shooting arc wouldn't be so random, right?
(This is so not gonna happen, but I just have to throw it out there for the sake of it)
Seems like I have all my Buddie/911 ideas in the shower but whatever, WHAT IF the child involved in whatever that Situation in the 9x17 promo is called Derek?? And it triggers a big stonking PTSD episode??? There's no way but also pleeease i just want them to make Buck actually deal with 'New Mexico'!!
The rescue team finds him washed up on a bank two hours later after the scene was cleared.
Buck’s in the room when he finally wakes, brown eyes blinking fast to adjust to the light. The ER Doc mentioned Eddie could have a minor concussion, from the blast knocking him off the bridge, or the impact of hitting the water, they couldn’t tell. His lungs, miraculously, seemed fine.
“Hey, Eddie...we really gotta stop meeting in hospital rooms.” He tries softly, smiling as Eddie looks over to him sitting in an uncomfortable plastic chair that made his ass numb forty-five minutes ago.
Buck takes stock of all his injuries, the black eye–the other one this time–his hair slicked back with sweat and seawater. The burns on his neck covered in mepilex. His heart had been in his stomach for hours, and maybe god did exist ‘cause his prayers of Eddie waking up...
“I don’t mean to be rude, but do I know you?” He garbles out, and Buck gets up to pass him a glass of water.
He chuckles, undisturbed, “Real funny Eddie, Chris would have loved that one.”
Eddie just frowns at him and there’s confusion in his gaze, mixed with the concussion and pain, but suddenly, Buck knows he’s not joking. His stomach falls out of his ass this time.
“I – what? Eddie?”
“I should know you though, right?”
Them referencing the lightning strike with the kid up there
Them mentioning Eddie jumping from the bridge - again
Buck looking devastated in the promo and being held back
Eddie not able to pull up Buck after he was hit by the lightning
Buck not able to help Eddie?
Buck not able to pull up Eddie?
Eddie falling off the bridge?
Together with the boat/cars etc
Eddie NDE
Ryan's song choice for the rest of the season
"I don't want to wait"
So Eddie NDE kicks off Buddie canon
"'cause that's what families do. No matter how hard it is or how far apart they are, even if they have to fight like hell to get there, they find a way home."
family fights to get back to you line potentially foreshadowing an Eddie NDE, perhaps? 👀
Believe me I do not mind the idea of Buck acquiring a child but I am just fascinated by how everyone (at least on twt) seems so certain that it’s going to happen?? Like the synopsis for 9x17 gives nothing away, and to me that call sheet is really difficult to read (and it’s not like they haven’t tricked us before - I.e. that script about Bobby’s death).
Again, I don’t mind the thought of Buck looking after a child, permanently or otherwise. Lord knows I read SO many accidental baby acquisition fics. But it is by no means a certainty, and the way everyone is talking about it just confuses me.
I think the saddest part of Cameron & Connor’s death is them missing out on the MASSIVE settlement they would’ve gotten from the daycare after they lost their son & he end up 30 ft in the air on a power tower 🫠
