One of the great virtuosic performances of animation history: Emery Hawkins' The Greedy sequence from "Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure" (1977) that takes full advantage of the possibilities for metamorphosing and surrealism within the artform.
Disney animator Ward Kimball called this five-and-a-half minute segment "one of the greatest animated sequences of all time … Why I say this is because I would never be able to conceive and do a thing like that."
